Celebrating 10 Years of Elephant & Piggie Books + A Giveaway!

Hey All!

I’m sure you all know how much we love Elephant & Piggie at my house. My nephew is obsessed with them! I’m sure you’ve seen all our posts raving about the books in the past. Today, were so excited to partner with Disney-Hyperion on a sponsored post to celebrate 10 years of the book series! We decided to throw a party, because that’s what we do when we want to celebrate something we love! We love throwing parties, especially parties themed after some of our favorite book characters. I took a million pictures of our party and I wanted to share them, along with the DIY’s I made for the party, in case you’d like to throw your own little fiesta to celebrate as well!

I started the party off by asking my family to make a list of their 10 favorite Elephant & Piggie books to celebrate 10 years of fun! While they were brainstorming their ideas, I decorated and set up our book party spread.

I made the cutest Elephant & Piggie hanging lanterns!

Here is an Instruction Guide for DIY Elephant & Piggie Paper Lanterns, in case you’d like to make them for your own party.

I love how these came out! They are so fun and easy to make. They are perfect to hang on your walls or ceiling to celebrate the book series with.

I made some Elephant & Piggie cupcake toppers for our cupcakes. You can download THIS PRINTABLE HERE and print them out onto some sticker paper. You then stick them onto a toothpick and stick them into your cupcake. They are super simple to make and were perfect cupcakes for our party!

How cute are those cupcakes folks? Love them!

While we were munching on some tasty cupcakes, we decided our first favorite book was “The Thank You Book”. It’s probably one of the sweetest books I’ve ever read.

Our second favorite is the “I really like Slop!” book! It’s such a funny and sweet book. The title alone always makes my nephew laugh.

With the same printable and sticker paper I used for the cupcake toppers, I made some cute Piggie favor bags.

They were filled with Elephant & Piggie stress balls and temporary tattoos.

They fit perfectly inside our mini bags. They were the perfect size for little hands!

As a special surprise for my nephew, I wrapped some of the new books we got in Elephant & Piggie wrapping paper. We got a few new beginning-reader series books created by Mo Willems, including the newest book “The Good for Nothing Button” By Charise Mericle Harper. It was just released on May 2nd. I had him open it as a present at the party!

This was decided as our new 3 favorite book! We then read some of The Good for Nothing Button together. If you’ve never heard of the book, here is a synopsis.

Yellow Bird has a button. It does . . . nothing! It is a good for nothing button.

Red Bird and Blue Bird are excited to try the button. But when they press it, they discover that the button makes them happy. Happy is something! A flabbergasted Yellow Bird insists the button does nothing. But it sure does seem to be making him mad. Mad is something!

The hilarious debate that follows takes readers on an emotional roller coaster that pokes at the power of imaginative play.

We also narrowed down our other seven favorite Elephant & Piggie books, which are: “I Will Take a Nap!”, “Waiting Is Not Easy!”, “My New Friend Is So Fun!”, “A Big Guy Took My Ball!”, “Let’s Go for a Drive!”, “Listen to My Trumpet!”, and my personal favorite “Should I Share My Ice Cream?”. I’m the ice cream queen, so any book in regards to ice cream is always my favorite!

We were sent our own ā€œGood for Nothingā€ button, so we played with it after we read the book!

We of course did all this while we were wearing our 10 year anniversary Elephant & Piggie party hats.

We had Birdy…

Piggie…

And Elephant cups and straws to sip our drinks from. I made the cups using the same printable and sticker paper as before. We were sent the straws as part of a party pack, But you could use the stickers from the printable to make cute straws as well.

We colored and play games with these “Elephant & Piggie Like Reading!” activity sheets! You can download your own printable Activity Sheets HERE!

And lastly, I made this this 10 year anniversary party decoration with some card stock and stickers. I couldn’t have a party with out a banner to say why we’re celebrating! I would never!

We had a blast at our party in case you couldn’t tell. It was like our napkins said, the best day ever!
