Hey All!
It’s that time of year again, It’s Grinchmas time at Universal Studios Hollywood! I was lucky enough to be invited to the launch of this spectacular event yesterday and it was truly a site to see as it is every year. Oh how I love this time of year.
The stage was set and once the sun set the Holiday fun began! I love how Universal decorates for the holidays! It’s so beautiful!
The stars came out to help L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti, The Grinch and Max the Dog L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti light the amazing whoville tree!Ā Hollywoodās Whoās WhoāAlexa PenaVega (āNashville,ā āSpy Kidsā), Carlos PenaVega (āBig Time Rush,ā āThe Penguins of Madagascarā), and Yvette
Nicole Brown (āCommunity,ā āFamily Guyā and the upcoming TV series āOdd Coupleā); as well as 200 LAUSD children were also in attendance.
The Grinch was super excited and of course very excited to kick off Grinchmas! It is after all named after him.
The Grinch, Max the Dog, Martha May Whovier, Whoville Mayor Augustus MayWho, Cindy LouWho and the entire town of Whoville came out to celebrate as well.
It was such a fun and colorful event to say the least.
When the tree was lit it was truly a sight to see. The Fireworks that shot into the sky were absolutely breathtaking.
I mean how awesome are these photos! These are honestly un-edited photos. Mayor Garcetti presented the esteemed Whoville Mayor Augustus MayWho with the first-ever āGrinchmasā Mayoral Proclamation that he read in Seussian rhyme.
As part of the event, Martha May Whovier and the Who Dolls will tookĀ center stage by the āGrinchmasā tree, performing energetic musical sets to usher in the Christmas season in style.Ā The Wholiday Singersāa hip boy-band ensemble- also performed a melodic an cappella rendition of Christmas and pop rock favorites.Ā There was also glittery snowfall and a dazzling display of fireworks
The tree has a magical life of it’s own. It changes color and snowflakes project onto it.
It’s truly a sight to see when you see the tree turn from blue…

To red and white striped to name just a few of the amazing changes the tree does to transform itself.

During Grinchmas you can also take your kids to make your own Ornaments…
They will have a blast coloring in their ornament.

Grinchmas time at Universal Studios Hollywood is not to be missed this year! It runs until January 4th!
Here is all you can do at Grinchmas at the Who-liday Celebration in Whobilation Plaza:
- Enjoy the spectacular lighting of the one-of-a-kind, curved Seuss-ian tree
- Experience a picturesque evening snowfall
- Join Cindy Lou and Who friends as she reads the Dr. Seuss classic, How the Grinch Stole Christmas
- See musical performances by the Wholiday Singers boy band and Martha May Whovier and her Who Dolls
- See the Grinch and Who holiday performance at the Whoville movie set on the Studio Tour
Activities include:
- Take a photo with the Grinch and his dog Max
- Send a postcard to the Grinch and a book will be donated to a child in need
- Decorate aĀ gingerbreadĀ man cookie with frosting, candy and other edible sweets (purchase required)
- Design your own holiday ornament
