DIY Ice Cream Cone Trash Can!

Hey All!

Ice Cream month may be sadly over, but there is plenty of summer left and I’m keeping this ice cream party going strong all summer long! I sadly didn’t get to share all I wanted during ice cream month, but that’s not going to stop me from sharing them. Ice Cream never goes out of style, so thankfully I can share them all summer and all year. Today I’m bringing you this beyond cute DIY Ice Cream Cone Trash Can! I’m in love with it and I hope you like it as much as I do!

I love it so much I had to take it to my fun wall and dance with it! Yes I made myself a sprinkle dress to dance in!

Here is how to make it!

  • This Trash Can or the white one of this same brand and style
  • Hot Pink Spray Paint.
  • Light Brown Spray Paint
  • Brown Acrylic Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Red Ping Pong Ball
  • Green Heavy Cardstock
  • Glue Gun
  • Various Colors of Sticker Vinyl
  • Mod Podge
  • Scissors or Cricut Cutting Machine and the Sprinkles #M4D74A cutting pattern.

First you spray paint the pieces of the lid of the trash can hot pink.

You then spray paint the base of the trash can light brown. Let both dry completely overnight. You then use your hot glue gun to glue the red ping pong ball to the top of the pink top trash can. You’ll glue it right in the center of the part that swings back and forth. You’ll then use your scissors or your Cricut Cutting Machine to cut out a green leaf and stem for the cherry. I searched Cherry in my Cricut Design Space to cut the cherry stem perfectly with my Cricut Cutting Machine.

I glued the cut out cherry stem to the red ping pong ball with my hot glue gun.

I then cut out sprinkle shapes from my various colored stick on vinyl. I then stuck the sprinkles onto the trash can top. Lasty, brush on some mod podge all over the top to seal everything together. Your top will be done once the mod podge dries.

For the bottom you’ll take your light brown acrylic paint and paint on a basket weave on the bottom piece of the trash can. This will give it it’s ice cream cone look.

It doesn’t have to be perfect. I did my free hand and I think it came out pretty cute.

Add a layer of mod podge and let the bottom half dry completely. Once all the pieces are dry and done, place the top on top of the cone bottom piece and you have yourself a DIY Ice Cream Cone Trash Can!

I love it sooooo much folks! I have been searching high and low for an ice cream trash can and decided to give up and make my own.

How cute is this trash can folks? Love it! When I see the picture above, I think of the Lion King song. Bachiwenga Babadichiwawa! LOL.

I hope you love this trash can just as much as I do! If you make yourself one of these be sure to share and tag @BriteandBubbly with hashtag #BubblySquad so I can see!
