DIY Pool Float Inspired Christmas Stockings & Healthy Stocking Stuffer Ideas!

Hey All!

Since Summer and Halloween were all about pool floats, we decided to bring the pool floats into the Holiday Season as well with these DIY Pool Float Inspired Christmas Stockings! How cute are they folks? What’s even better about them is their filled with yummy Gold Emblem abound treats from CVS Pharmacy. Who says you can’t have healthy stocking stuffers? Today I’m going to share how to make these stockings and share my choices for healthier stocking stuffers.

First, Here’s how to make these stockings. You’ll need the following:

  • A Hot Pink, White, and Black Christmas Stocking.
  • White, Black, Hot Pink, Purple, Yellow, Red, Green, Orange, Light Blue and Dark Blue Felt
  • Gold thick ribbon
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Felt Glue
  • Scissors

To make the unicorn, with your scissors you cut a piece of white felt in the shape of the head. I cut two pieces at a time in order to make the pieces think, so they stay upright. I then cut a little round black circle for the eye. You then want to cut half circle shapes of your colored felts to make the mane. You’ll also cut a thick S shape from your purple felt to make the tail. You’ll also cut out colored felt pieces to go down the tail. You’ll use your glue gun to stick all the main layers together. You’ll also use it to stick all the tail mane together. Glue your head piece into the opening of your stocking. Glue on the eye, then the main, and then then tail in the middle of the stocking. You’ll lastly cut gold ribbon and twirl it to make a horn. You’ll stick the horn onto the top of the head in in between the two pieces of white felt. And that’s it. You’re done!

You repeat almost the same steps to make the flamingo, except you’ll need to cut way less pieces. You’ll cut two pink wing pieces, two small tail pieces, and two flamingo head shaped pieces. You’ll also cut a white and black piece for the beak and eyeball. For small pieces like the black eyeball dot, you’ll want to use felt glue so you don’t burn your fingers with hot glue. You’ll glue the pieces to the stocking and the eye and beak pieces to the flamingo head and you’re done.

You’ll just like the flamingo for the toucan, except make the neck thicker and the tail is longer. For the small black outline pieces and eye, you’ll use felt glue.

That’s how you make these fun stockings! How cute are they?! They’re sure to bring some color to your holiday season decor.

Once you’re stockings are done, you’ll want to fill them with some yummy healthy treats. My favorites are Gold Emblem abound Goji Berry Blend Trail Mix…

Gold Emblem abound Blueberry Almond Rice Pop Clusters and Mango and Greek Yogurt Nut Bars.

Gold Emblem abound Strawberry Freeze-Dried Fruit Crisps

And last but not least Gold Emblem Abound Organic Popcorn.

These treats fit perfectly inside the stockings and it’s a great alternative to the sugary treats you’d normally put in these stockings.

I hope you enjoy these stockings and these treat stocking stuffers as much as I do!
