Hey All,

I’m happy to celebrate with you all that E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, the AcademyAward® winning film from director Steven Spielberg’s is celebrating its 30th Anniversary with its first-ever release on Blu-ray™ now.

Featuring an all-new, digitally remastered picture that delivers six times the resolution of DVD, as well as all-new 7.1 surround sound, the E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial Anniversary Edition Blu-ray™ Combo Pack includes the 1982 theatrical movie, an all-new interview with director Steven Spielberg, and “The E.T. Journals” featuring never-before-seen footage from the set of the film. The Blu-ray™ Combo Pack also includes UltraViolet™, a DVD and a Digital Copy of the film, offering fans a chance to relive the mystery, laughter and wonder of the iconic movie anytime, anywhere on the platform of their choice.

E.T. is one of my favorite films of ALL TIME. Seriously it is. It was the first live action movie I was ever shown as a child. I laughed with E.T., I cried with E.T., I played with E.T., Literally I played with E.T.

I have a collection of E.T. toys from when I was a kid and that I’ve collected over the years and when I heard about the release of the BluRay I couldn’t help but want to bring them out. Some I’ve passed onto the kids in our home since they too love E.T. For example this sleeping E.T. in his pajamas.

In 1982, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial became the biggest blockbuster of the year, ranking #1 over 16 different weekends. Even today, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial remains the fourth most successful movie of all-time1 in the United States. Nominated for nine Academy Awards® including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Writing and Best Screenplay, the film took home four statuettes for Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Effects Editing, Best Sound and Best Music for John Williams’ memorable score. Just hearing the score of E.T. brings me back to my childhood and honestly makes me tear up.

The unforgettable cast includes the adorable Drew Barrymore (He’s Just Not That Into You, Charlie’s Angels), Henry Thomas (Dear John, Legends of the Fall), Dee Wallace (10, “Sons and Daughters”) and Peter Coyote (“Law & Order: LA,” Jagged Edge).

You can imagine how thrill I was to be able to review this amazing BluRay and attend an event in which I re-enacted the film goodbye scene at the end of E.T.!

I also can’t tell you how excited I was to get this little E.T. figure to add to my collection. I tried to find as much as I could from my E.T. collection to share with you all but a lot of it is still in storage since we moved.

I did find my special limited edition E.T. DVD box set that I cherish that came with all versions of the film as well as the soundtrack and a book on the making of the film, inside this snazzy box.

I also found this film cell I had from the film E.T. which is an actual piece of the film.

And when I found it I thought it was so crazy since it’s the exact scene and shot I recreated at the event I recently went to for E.T.

How cool is that!

You can check out my bad acting debut in E.T. in the you tube video below:

Ugh I know it’s bad and I was never good at improv so please pardon the not so clever things I say in this video!

If you’ve never seen E.T., God forbid, here is a little info about the film.

When an imaginative boy meets a lost alien, it is the beginning of one of cinema’s most endearing friendships, as Elliot (Henry Thomas) helps the marvelous creature he calls E.T. find his way back home before government agents can capture him.

This BluRay is amazing as it includes the original film as well as an amazing assortment of BONUS FEATURES Like:
