As busy moms, you spend a lot of time working, taking care of the house, the kids, the family and so on. You tend to lose yourself in the grind of life and forget to take care of yourself.  I know I’m guilty of losing my inner fashionista most of the time as I never take time to slow down to pick out outfits that are fabulous. However, it is so important to make time to take care of ourselves and that includes the perfect wardrobe for every occasion!  That’s why I love shows like Desafio Fashionista which help us to find that inner fashionista we may have lost along the way.

DESAFIO FASHIONISTA is a brand new and exclusive show on Discovery Familia that puts four Latina fashionistas in a head-to-head competition based on a series of style-based challenges judged by a stylish panel of experts. During each one of the challenges they will have to put together the perfect look to wear on three distinct, special occasions: a beach wedding, a blind date and a job interview, among others. The judges’ panel—made up of Mexican model, actress and blogger Adriana Abascal, who is also the series’ host; Mexican presenter Olivia Peralta; Colombian fashion editor Juan Carlos Giraldo; and a special guest panelist on each new episode—will evaluate the personal taste, elegance, creativity and, above all else, the keen sense of style of each of the contestants. The winner on the show then gets to take home the entire wardrobe they put together.  I need to get on this show! Having an over-flowing closet is a dream-come-true for many a woman, and Discovery Familia makes this dream a reality in its new original production DESAFÍO FASHIONISTA. The series airs Fridays at 9pm EST.

I can already tell I’m going to be addicted to the show as Desafio Fashionista is very entertaining. Discovery Familia is also hosting a contest in which participants could win weekly prizes of $250 and a grand prize of $1,000 + the luxury of having a personal stylist to create the wardrobe of the winner’s dream. I decided to take my own fashion challenge and dress up for a date night with my husband. The kids are at their aunts house (aka the closest thing they have to their abuelita here) last night and me and my husband had a rare date night out to go have dinner. I decided prints, pineapples, and gold are really hot right now and you can’t go wrong with a dress for a date night right?

I paired it with a Pineapple Purse and some gold pointy flats.

I think I pulled off a fun and trendy Summer look don’t you think? Do you think I could compete on Desafio Fashionista?

I felt fabulous and I think I passed my own challenge.
