Healthy Color Block Heart Waffles Recipe

Hey All!

It’s no secret that I’ve suffered from belly issues through out the years. I’ve shared my issues and my family issues with IBS and more. This is why this year I’m focusing on living healthier and getting all these health issues under control. One way I’m doing that is by changing the way we eat and the products we buy. We’re focusing on eating healthier so we can feel healthier. One amazing product I’ve recently discovered and can’t get enough of is, a2 Milk®. The angels sang when I found this at the grocery store on a recent shopping trip. I had no idea this milk was available or I would have been buying it sooner. It’s made for those like myself who have lactose intolerance issues. With this milk, I can enjoy milk without any symptoms. Woot! woot!

In case you’ve never heard of it, a2 Milk® is the natural replacement to chemically processed alternatives. Originally, all milk contained only the A2 protein. Over time a genetic mutation occurred in cows and a new type of protein developed called A1. This A1 protein causes digestive discomfort and is in all cows’ milk in-stores today. It’s even in organic milk! Shocking I know!

A2 Milk Bottle

The a2 Milk Company™ has partnered with U.S. family dairy farmers in upstate New York and the Midwest to expand the a2™ herd. These cows naturally produce milk with only the A2 protein. The farmers are also certified in the humane treatment of animals, which is very important to me. Their cows are fed a vegetarian diet and never given hormones or rBST, and the milk is antibiotic free and contains no artificial ingredients or additives.

Being a born and raised New Yorker and a person who loves supporting companies that believe in the human treatment of animals, this was a perfect brand for me to start buying. Let’s not forget the benefits it will have to our tummies.

A2 Milk Glass

In our home most of our milk consumption happens around breakfast time. We either drink this milk straight out of the glass as is or I like to use it in recipes. Since I’m focusing on making more of our meals and recipes healthier, I thought I would share one of these recipes with you today. It’s in honor of Valentine’s Day and it’s a healthy twist on our traditional morning waffles. I call it my Healthy Color Block Heart Waffles Recipe!

Here is what you’ll need to make them.

You then add your a2 Milk® and eggs one at a time and mix. You then add your Vegetable Oil and Vanilla Extract and mix. You can mix by hand or use a hand mixer to blend. You make sure you blend the batter until the mixture is completely smooth.

Once it’s completely smooth you pour one drop of each food coloring into your 2 squeeze bottles. You then pour batter into each squeeze bottle and shake the batter up until the food coloring is mixed with the batter completely.

A2 Milk Color Block Waffle Mix

Plug in your heart waffle maker and spray it with your cooking spray so the waffles do not stick to the maker. You then squeeze each color batter into each heart section on the waffle maker and cook until the waffle makers instructions.
