Hey All!
With Mother’s Day around the corner, I’ve been thinking about how much my mother has inspired me to be bold. When you can dress up like your favorite emoji and walk down the street when it’s not even Halloween and not care, I call that bold. It’s a true story as well. My mom has always been bold as she basically raised me alone with the help of my amazing grandmother. Being a full time working mom and raising a child in New York City, she had to be bold. She never took no for an answer and never gave up on anything she wanted. She taught me to be the same way, but in addition always encouraged me to never give up on my dreams. Thanks to her, I have my Brite & Bubbly brand and I’m doing a job I love. I never gave up on my dreams to do something I love to do in my career and she’s very proud of me for accomplishing all that I have accomplished.
I celebrate my mom big time every Mother’s Day for these reasons. She’s the boldest woman I know, but she doesn’t like to take pictures (in case you couldn’t tell from the picture below). Go figure right?
When we had no money, she’d figure out a way to pay for my singing lessons. When I told her I want to put on a show in the living room, she would make it a production. She was never afraid to let me try anything I wanted to try. That’s a bold and costly move for any mom, but she never wanted to limit me and tell me there is something I could not do or try. She wanted me to always know I can do anything I wanted to do as long as I put my mind to it.
My mom continues to teach me how to be bold to this day. She’s always reminding me to not forget to take time to take better care of myself. She knows I’m always busy with the blog and can put myself second before work. It’s a good reminder to have and I always make sure I’m taking care of myself and my smile in particular. I go to so many events and photos are always taken. I need to keep my smile on point. I have to essentially always be camera ready at these events. You never know where those pictures might end up.
I’m anal with my smile, so I always take the time to brush and use my LISTERINE® mouth wash. It embodies the bold in my life, because with a great smile I feel confident and bold!
I wouldn’t be who I am today with out the bold inspiration of my mom and the fearlessness that comes with being bold.
