Kia Partners With Donorschoose.org To Help Children In Need! #Kia

Hey All!

Last week I had the amazing opportunity to attend a press conference that will help more than 125,000 public school students nationwide! The event was for the announcement of Kia Motors and DonorsChoose.org becoming national partners to help students and teachers receive new learning tools and resources for their classrooms through this partnership.

Kia Motors of America pulled out all the stops for this event. They even brought out those funny dancing hamsters as you can see in the picture above!

It took place at Gates Elementary School here is Los Angeles, CA and this kids of the school were on hand for this special event as well.

At the event we heard from the founder of DonorsChoose.org, Charles Best and Byung Mo Ahn, group president and CEO of Kia Motors and Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia.  Charles spoke of how Donorschoose.org came to be and what the partnership with Kia would mean to the organization and Byung talked about how Kia was committed to making a difference and is proud to be the first automotive brand to establish a national philanthropic partnership with DonorsChoose.org.

The Gates Elementary School Principal was also in attendance and said a few words of thanks to Kia. Ms. Barraza spoke about how proud she was to have her school host this amazing event and to have Kia present her students with much needed school supplies.  100-percent of the students at Gates are economically disadvantaged.

Kia Motors America’s donation will match dollar-for-dollar all donations made to these public and charter school classrooms by citizen philanthropists.  Public schools nationwide are encouraged to post projects in need of funds with a total value of $600 on www.donorschoose.org.

The goal of this partnership is to fulfill needs and foster innovation in public schools, and Kia’s donation will help provide school supplies for children most in need, while supporting communities across the country.

Kia also presented DonorsChoose.org with a $1 million check to fund classroom projects nationwide at the event.  Yes that’s $1 million people! The donation will foster innovative educational initiatives by providing resources for more 125,000 public school children in need.

This was an amazing and exciting sight to see since it would mean so much to so many needy kids and schools.

This students of the school were thrilled to have Kia there and the students were even happier when they were presented with the new supplies which included geology specimens! As you can see in the picture below this boy really loved this specimen set.

There were lots of science-related materials as well as literacy games that the kids loved!

It was so great to be a part of this fantastic event and to see the joy of kids being able to learn with some brand new learning tools. This partnership is a great one and it will hopefully grow and help many kids in need!

Thank you to Kia for allowing me to attend this amazing event and for giving me a fabulous Kia Soul to get there!

This fabulous car has been amazing to drive! It was also nice to represent and attend an event for Kia in a Kia.

It’s a very nice looking car as you can see! It has so many new features that I love and drives like a dream.

Some of the features I absolutely loved are the power side view mirrors that you can electronically push in with the click of a button.  I can’t get enough of these mirrors for some reason. I think they are so cool and it’s such a useful feature to have especially if you park on the street.

The car also has Sirius Satellite Radio and an Amazing Stereo System complete with speakers in the side doors that light up if you’re in a dark area.

The USB input and voice command navigation were very handy to have. It helps keep you safe on the road, so you don’t have to use your hands to answer a phone.  You can use the button on the steering wheel to answer.

This car is very well made and it has a lot of great details on the inside and outside of the car. For example, I love that the chairs say soul on it.

This was amazing opportunity to attend and great car to drive! I highly recommend you check out the Kia Soul as well as make a donation to DonorsChoose.org to help some kids and teachers in need!
