Hey All!
Are you a mom and has someone has inspired you to be the caring mother that you are for your family. What inspires you to make sure that your family is healthy and thriving every day? Is there a person who inspires you to be the best mother you can be? I was asked to ponder these questions myself and the first person to come to mind was my abuela aka my granny. I LOVED my grandmother. She was essentially the person who raised me. My Mother and Father both worked full time jobs growing up so I spent from the time I was born all day with my grandmother.
She and her gossip loving, novela watching, coffee drinking friends all taught me what it means to be a good person and most importantly a good mother. My grandmother was a care giver and nanny. Literally that was her profession. She new how to take care of kids and raised half of the neighborhood. Kids loved her and she just knew how to take care of them. She was the kindest most selfless woman I ever knew and she taught me that being a good mother is not about how much you can give to your kids, but about how supportive you are of your kids. You have to be really there for your kids to be a good mother.
She inspired me to want to be always present in my families life and to never take my family for granted. If there is one thing I could be proud of in my life, it would have to be that my kids tell me one day that I’m a great mother like my grandmother was. It inspires me every day!
