Hey All!
Iām sure you all remember my previous post where I announced I would be throwing a summer (not quite backyard bash since we donāt have a backyard) rooftop deck party for me and my family, right?! Well the day has come and itās an epic pool floatie fun in the sun party! All my fabulous readers know Iām the hostess with the mostess and there is nothing I love more that hosting a good fun in the sun party. You donāt have to ask me twice! Who wouldnāt want to pour some water into this amazing pool and play with that fantastic mix of pool toys?! I know I do!
Youāve got everything from donuts, to pizza, popsicles, unicorns, happy faces, hamburgers, ice cream, and more inflated and ready to play.
When youāre throwing a backyard bash for your family, and kids especially, you want to make sure you make it colorful and make it safe to play in the sun.
Here are some tips for throwing your own backyard or pool party bash:
1. Make sure you have yourself some sunscreen and towels to dry off from playing in the pool. We live in Southern California where the sun shines always. We always make sure to wear our sunscreen to keep our skin safe from sunburns or worse when weāre going to have a pool party and have some fun in the sun. We love using the Banana Boat NEW SunComfort sunscreen in SPF 30 and 50+ and itās been working great!
In case you didnāt know, you need to apply a golf-ball sized portion (about an ounce or 2 tablespoons) of Banana BoatĀ® sunscreen lotion at least 15 minutes before going out in the sun. Reapply the sunscreen every two hours or immediately after swimming, sweating or towel drying. For sunscreen sprays, spray liberally and spread evenly on the body by hand at least 15 minutes before engaging in outdoor activities. For your face, spray the sunscreen in your hand and then apply to the face.
And be sure to do this for your kids so they donāt accidentally spray themselves in the face or get lotion in their eyes! Safety first with your kids, people!
2. Make sure you make it very colorful and interactive for your kids so they can really enjoy themselves as they play in the sun.
3. Make sure you have plenty of fun colorful snacks, treats, and cold drinks and water so you and your kids stay hydrated as you have fun in the sun. Non-fat butter mints and tasty cakes are always fun. Kids burn a lot of energy and you need to stay hydrated when youāre in the sun for long periods of time! Weāre always drinking cold iced water (from cute pineapple sippy cups, of course) when weāre out in the sun.
4. Donāt forget to spray yourself with some Banana Boat NEW SunComfort sunscreen as you sit and catch some relaxing rays as the kids play in the pool. You donāt want to get up with a nasty sunburn from sitting in the sun all day!
5. Wear sunglasses in the sun as eyes need protecting too and do not fall asleep during your fun in the sun party! I know the sun can drain you, but youāre the hostess with the mostess and you should be keeping an eye on kids at all times especially when water is involved. Thatās like two tips in one!
6. My last and final tip is to have fun! However you decide to host your fun in the sun bash, make sure itās the kind of fun you and your family will love and enjoy. Youāll cherish those memories for years to come!
I hope these tips help you to be the hostess with the mostess in your own fun backyard or summer fun in the sun bash! Have a blast and be sure to stay safe at your fun in the sun summer!
