Hey all!

I had the most amazing opportunity to review some of the most unique pens and pencils recently. They are called Smencils and Smens! What is a Smencil or Smens you ask? Well think about it…What two words does Smens or Smencil sound like? If you said to yourself Smell and Pencil or Smell and Pens, well you guessed correctly. They’re gourmet scented pencils. Yes GOURMET. They smell good enough to eat and actually smell like real food. They are amazing! I kid you not they really do smell like real food. Those scented pencils we used to have as a kid don’t even compare to these amazing pencil and pens.

What is also great about these products is they are Eco-Friedly. They are basically made out of Recycled items. How are they made you ask?

Well the Smencils are made by rolling sheets of newspaper that are wrapped tightly around #2 graphite writing cores until pencils of typical thickness are formed. Then they harden allowing them to be sharpened just like wood pencils. They then soak them with gourmet liquid scents made by an award winning fragrance company. Once they dry, they attach erasers and apply the stickers around them that identify which scent was infused into each Smencil. Lastly, they put each Smencil into its own corn-based biodegradable Freshness Tube.

And that’s how they make amazing Smecils! I told you they were Eco-Friendly. The case they are even encased in is Biodegradable! And you don’t want to throw they plastic tube they come in out because it helps the pens and pencils keep their scents for two years!

These pencils would be a great hit for Back to School this year! You’re child will have the coolest pencils in the school yard I guarantee it! And let’s not forget about Smens the Gourmet scented pens! Yes they have Gourmet scented pens too! And let me digress for a second and say that yes my teen loved these Smecils and Smens, But I actually really loved them as well and they would be great gift basket gifts or even stocking stuffer gifts for people of all ages. I think super crafty people like my Mother would love these! I digress…

As you can see in the picture above I had the opportunity to sniffer and write with an assortment of Original Smencils, Colored Smencils, and Smens so that I can right this review. They all smell amazing and the Smencils really do sharpen like a traditional pencil. They again really do smell like real food! And I love that each tube is labeled with the scent of each pencil in a fun color as well.

My family and I loved them! We all had a big laugh as we all sat there just sniffing these pencils and pens for hours. If you can image walking into a room with people just sitting there sniffing pens and pencils for god knows how long, it was a funny sight.
