Taking A Crafting Vacation With The Mazda3!

Hey All!

I recently took a trip to Craftcation 2015. In case you have never heard of Craftcation, it’s an annual four day business + makers conference featuring industry professionals leading attendees in hands-on food & craft workshops and lectures and panels on creative business. It’s really what the title of the conference says it is. It’s essentially a crafting vacation and I needed it! Luckily the fine folks at Mazda were kind enough to lend me a Mazda3 to review and get myself to my crafting vacay!

The conference takes place in in the beach town of Ventura, California and I couldn’t wait to drive this car to this fun conference.  It’s a fun filled event featuring networking, meet & greets, cocktail socials, a pop-up shop, yoga and food and art tours. Every where you turned you were encouraged to express your creativity. It was truly refreshing to experience.

I was thankful to have such a fabulous vehicle like the Mazda3 to get me around for the conference.

The Mazda3 is equipped with the 2.5L SKYACTIV technology gasoline engine. It’s estimated to get an EPA 40 MPG on the highway. It drove like a breeze on the highway and it hardly used up any gas on the trip going and coming.

The car also featured satellite radio and a great dashboard that was easy to use. This review vehicle wasn’t set up with navigation, but you can easily get navigation installed and set up in this car.

Can I just point out how amazing these flowers were around the Craftcation hotel? They were so colorful and beautiful!

I digress…

It had a push button start which I always love in a car…

Easy to reach controls for the dashboard…

Lots of front and rear passenger space through out the car…

And lots and lots of storage areas. I also loved that the usb ports and light plug were inside the center arm rest compartment and hidden out of site.

The cup holders in this car were large enough to fit my ball jar terrarium. I loved this since I could drive home with it right next to me and not have to worry about it spilling out in the car.

The trunk space was large enough to take home all my luggage and all the craft goodies I picked up while on my crafty vacation. What you see below is just some of what I took home from Craftcation. I had more in the back seat too. I love my craft supplies and thank goodness this car could fit it all inside and then some.

Test driving this car and attending Craftcation was the perfect way to spend the week. I got to experience all the fun and perks of having a fabulous Mazda3 and I also got to connect with such an amazing community of such talented and creative people.

I also hammered leather for the first time…

I worked on my sewing skills…

And I really think I learned some fun new crafting techniques and built my community on this amazing trip.

I did a lot I know! It was a much needed escape and the experience. The views were pretty amazing too. Check out all these photos below from the fabulous surrounding beach. I just had to share since it was so gorgeous!

Oh if only I could have learned to swim and surf on this trip as well. Maybe next year!

Thanks so much to Mazda for allowing me to test drive their fabulous Mazda3 vehicle which allowed me to experience this awesome craft vacation!

I was solely provided this car for a week review. All Opinions are my own.
