As you all know I love Windows 8 and Windows Phone devices in particular! I was excited to receive the Nokia Lumia 822 from my favorite cellular service in the world Verizon Wireless. As you all know I’ve been with Verizon for about 15 years and I’m never leaving! I have 4 lines and tablets and more with Verizon Wireless and I love it. It’s an East Coast New Yorker strange loyalty I have. I digress…
I’ve reviewed Windows Phones here in the past and I have to say the windows phone just keeps getting better and better, and this is coming from a die hard Iphone user.
I love the crisp bright look of the Windows 8 Motion tiles Tiles. Windows Phone 8 brings the features that all modern smartphone operating systems should have for a busy mom on the run. It’s an amazing gift for the holidays for any tech savvy family person in particular. It has a rich browsing experience, a great selection apps, with over 100,000 apps and more added each day! The convenience of voice search on your phone, as well as text-to-voice and voice-to- text. And you really can’t beat the data speeds with 4G LTE. Plus with Verizon Wireless you also get features like Backup Assistant, Visual Voicemail, NFL Mobile and more!
One of my favorite features has to be Kid’s Corner and Rooms! Rooms lets you create a private space in the People Hub where you can chat, share photos and manage a shared calendar with your family or friends. And Kid’s Corner allows you to set up a place on your phone where you can share apps, games and music with your child. They’ll have a Start screen of their own and can only access the items you select. It’s a lifesaver for when you are traveling with kids, especially during the Holidays!
Another amazing feature on the phone is that it has a fantastic Camera! The 8-megapixel camera has a Carl Zeiss lens and dual LED flash. It also has wide-angle and auto focus capabilities! You can see how crisp and clear the picture is on the phone in the picture above. That’s with no filter and it’s amazing. For someone who it’s literally photographing my family and food every day since I’m now obsessed with photography, this is a must have!
For having so many features and such an awesome camera, it still maintains a relatively thin body.
It also has an amazing Mapping and directions feature called Nokia Drive.
Nokia Drive will not only remember the routes you take everyday, like your route to work, but it will also give you alternatives when there is traffic and will also show you locations that you may be looking for that are near by. Like where is the nearest bank etc. It works really well and is super helpful when you’re driving to a new location.
And last but not least I love that the phone tells me goodbye when I shut it down. Call me crazy but I love little personal touches like that since I get attached to my devices. I know many people who go crazy if their devices die because they’ve become so attached to them.
When I see it say goodbye in my had it makes me feel like my Nokia Lumia 822 Windows Phone will miss me! Yes I’m crazy.

We just got the Lumia 822 a couple days ago, I really like how tightly social media is integrated into this device. Very easy to use phone & a joy for windows 8 users!
