Hey All!

Life isn’t perfect as we all know. It’s filled with lots of fun and messes. Luckily you can clean up some of those messes along the way. I’m not perfect, nor do I try to be. Cleaning is not something I enjoy doing, but honestly who does. Getting it done quickly and efficiently is all that matters to me. Don’t get me wrong I am not a dirty person and I hate when things are dirty, but I’d much rather spend my day at a park eating ice cream than at home cleaning all day. Luckily Clorox.com has a great Tips section where you can get some amazing tips on how to clean up those tough spots in your home a little quicker than you probably do already. I love their tips for the bathroom Sink & Drain and how to clean your Kitchen Cutting Boards in particular.

Here are their steps to a cleaner sink and drain for the bathroom:

  • Before you go to bed, clear out the dishes from the sink and place them in the dishwasher. You can hit the sheets knowing the dishes will be clean in the morning.
  • Clean and disinfect kitchen sinks in one easy step with Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes. You can also clean and disinfect sinks daily with Clorox® Clean-Up® Cleaner + Bleach.
  • To deodorize drains, flush with water. Pour 3/4 cup Clorox® Regular-Bleach into the drain, then flush with hot water.
  • Keep your drain running clear by switching to liquid soap or glycerin bar soap. The binders in traditional bar soaps are the main cause of soap scum and contribute to clogged drains.

You can also use Bathroom Pump ‘N Clean multipurpose cleaner and these bathroom Scrub Singles to clean those sinks as well. I love these as they are so quick and easy to use. One pump and a little scrub with the Scrub Singles does the trick.

For the kitchen the cutting board we use is always a trouble to clean. Here is their tips on how to clean a cutting board.

  • Whether you have a little bit of time or a lot, here are some handy solutions for keeping your cutting boards clean.
  • To sanitize plastic cutting boards, wash or rinse with liquid dishwashing detergent and water. Then soak in a solution using 2 teaspoons of Clorox® Regular-Bleach per gallon of water. Let stand 2 minutes, then air dry.
  • To sanitize wooden cutting boards, use approximately 2 tablespoons of Clorox® Regular-Bleach per gallon of water to create a sanitizing solution. Wash, wipe, or rinse with dishwashing detergent and water, then apply solution. Let stand 2 minutes. Rinse with a solution of 2 teaspoons of Clorox® Regular-Bleach per gallon of water. Do not rinse or soak overnight.
  • Reduce cutting board odors by rubbing with halved lemons and then rinsing with cold water.
  • The U.S. Food and Drug Administration offers this advice: “Use smooth cutting boards made of hard maple or a nonporous material such as plastic and free of cracks and crevices. Avoid boards made of soft, porous materials.”

You can also use the Kitchen versions of their Pump ‘N Clean cleaner and Scrub singles to clean your cutting boards as well. The Pump ‘N Clean is food safe so you can clean as you cook. “*Do not use to clean up after raw meat or fish.”
