Tips for cooking healthy meals with kids! #BensBeginners

Hey All!

I know cooking healthy can be difficult when you’re short on time and have kids that are 5 years old and younger. They may not want to eat what you give them. They play with their food! The food you end up making usually ends up on the floor and not in their bellies. I know this can be frustrating and you often look for ways to help aid in this literal food fight, I know I do! What I have discovered is making eating and cooking healthy meals fun and simple! Don’t try to be so elaborate with everything!

Stick to the basics like Fruit and Veggies! What I like to do is make healthy meals that are fun for the kids to eat.

For example…

I use Pinterest a ton for finding fun healthy recipes like this one on how to make

Gouda cheese I read is so healthy and apparently can prevent cancer if you eat a slice a day. I saw it on that show The Doctors! lol.

The kids can get their daily veggies, eat healthy, and have fun while eating. I mean who wouldn’t want to eat this amazing dish. It’s fun, it’s colorful, and it looks good to eat. Eating Healthy with young kids is all about the visuals. You have to make it look pretty and fun since that’s what their minds register at the moment. You want to make everything a fun event! Even food! Especially when you’re trying to get them to eat a Healthy Meal!

For fruits it’s the same with the veggies! Make it fun like these Fruit Kabobs!

They look great and taste great. I use fruits that are in season and itā€™s a great healthy snack for the kids to have after a play date or when they come home from school. These arenā€™t for small small kids. Like I wouldnā€™t give a Kabob to a baby of course. You should know that.
But these are some of they ways I try to make healthy meals for the kidsĀ  in my house. Pinterest can be your best friend in helping you accomplish this. It has been for me!

Those are some tips that I hope will help you make healthy meals with kids!

Plus, beginning your meal with Uncle Benā€™s rice opens your plate up to better eating because rice attracts colorful vegetables, savory spices and leaner cuts of meat that the whole family loves!
