Hey All!

Being a long time customer of Verizon (About 15 Years now) I have always tried to stay up to date on all the latest technology and advances for Verizon Wireless. I love the company and will always be a customer. Now that I am a #VZWBuzz LifeStyle Ambassador I can get some inside scoop on some of their amazing new promotions and products they will be offering. I was given the opportunity to visit the Verizon Headquarters here in California and they showed us some amazing new accessories and programs they are working on. I have a ton to share with you all.

First off we learned about Home Fusion which essentially makes your home wirelessly connect to your devices so that you can control your lighting and stream video from your home.

We also got to take a look at their Accessory of the Month program. With this program you can get a discount on the device being featured. Here are just some of my favorite accessories that they are featuring.

The Mophie 4000 Portable Powerstation. It allow you to recharge you device on-the-go. The Mophie retails for $79.99 but since it’s this month’s featured accessory it is $10 off until 6/30/13.

Next up is the inSite Separation Alarm. This ultra-thin anti-loss Bluetooth smart proximity alarm instantly alerts you when you become separated from your valuables. You can control it from your iPhone. You can put it in your wallet, on your keys, or even on your phone or tablet. This receiver has an estimated operating range of 30-60 feet and will take the guess work of where you may have left your valuable or smartphone/tablet behind. I need this desperately as I am constantly misplacing my camera and phone. It has a retail price of $29.99.

They also showcased the fabulous FitBit Flex. I love my FitBits as you know and I actually own this one as well. It’s a great device that actually goes on your wrist and it’s water resistant. I wouldn’t dunk it in a pool, but it’s great for just washing hands and splashes of water. It tracks your calories, steps, and sleep patterns! The retail price of the Flex is $99.99.

And last but not least is The Nest is a learning thermostat that programs itself and allows you to connect from it from anywhere. automatically turns to an energy-efficient Away temperature when you’re gone. Auto-Away works in 90% of homes, even if your Nest is in a spot you don’t pass on your way out the door. It’s a little pricey at $249 but it’s well worth it.

The kind folks at Verizon were nice enough to send me home with one of their new devices as well, The Samsung Galaxy S4 Phone!

This phone does what you want and what you didn’t even know was possible. You can capture your life with an innovative camera. Control your TV right from your phone. Preview photos and read the news without touching the screen. It has voice recognition, hand gesture recognition, and it can even recognize when your eyes move in a different direction from your phone. It’s pretty amazing. You can wave your hand and answer your phone. Add fast 4G LTE to this phone and it’s pretty much perfect.

The biggest battle has been if I’m going to permanently give up my iPhone for it.

And last but not least we learned how Verizon Wireless is helping young girls put on the Quinceañera of their dreams. Thi is an important coming-of-age tradition in many Hispanic families. What began as a formal celebration that featured a church mass and a wedding-style reception has grown for many to include choreographed dances, outfit changes and much more.

Verizon has helped teens have the Quince of their dreams through Verizon’s My Fabulous Quince essay contest. This year’s contest grand prize winner will receive an all-expenses paid Quince party with a special performance of 3BALL MTY’s new track “Party Started,” exclusively produced for My Fabulous Quince, in addition to a college scholarship.

From now through July 31, teens turning 15 in 2013 can participate in My Fabulous Quince by answering each of the following questions in 100 to 500 words:

  • What does a Quince mean to you?
  • What are you planning to accomplish after high school?
  • How would you use technology to make your Quince dreams come true?

One Grand Prize winner will receive a dream Quince for 100 guests, a dress, cake, dinner, party planner, etc. In addition, Verizon want to make this event more memorable by providing:
