Hey All!
I had the amazing opportunity to attend a media event for the launch of the first Ghostbusters Movie Trailer thanks to the folks at Sony Pictures. I was among a small group of people who got to see the trailer (twice) and have a Q&A with Paul Feig, Katie Dippold, and the legendary Ivan Reitman. In case you didn’t know Ivan Directed the original Ghostbusters movie among other classic films. This is a film I’ve been looking forward to for some time, so I jumped at the chance to get any inside look at the movie. In case you haven’t heard, The Ghostbusters are back in whole new way. This time they are bringing their girl gang power to the big screen as this group of Ghostbusters is all women. This film stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones as the new Ghostbusters.

I am obsessed with Leslie Jones and she’s honestly one of the main reasons I tune into SNL these days. I can’t wait to see her in this movie! I’m also all for the Ghostbusters being introduced to a whole new generation as women. I mean who runs the world…Girls! This was such a fun event as they had fans from all around the world in attendance. They were dressed up like their favorite Ghostbusters Characters.
There was even a Dana in the crowd. But if you said, “OMG it’s a Dana!” near her, she would quickly respond “There is no Dana only Zuel!”. That was beyond amazing!
Everyone was beyond excited to be there and so was I. They had a real life 8 Hooks & Ladders fire house on the lot!
This acted as Ghostcorps, which is essentially the Ghostbusters move headquarters.
They also had the original Ecto 1 car on display.
I of course had to snap a picture with it as my inner nerd girl was going nuts.

As you can see it’s amazing!
We then proceeded into the theater and saw the trailer. The crowd cheered one more time and I felt like I was in Comic Con.
We watched it again and then got the chance to chat with filmmakers in a Q&A.

I will admit, I do want to know what happened to the OG Ghostbusters. Don’t you? I was one of those kids with my own proton power pack. I need to know what happened to the characters I’ve loved for decades. Did they go back to performing at children’s parties? Did they retire? Are they dead and now ghosts themselves? Did one of the ladies see them at their own kids party as a kid and that sparked her dream of being a Ghostbuster when she grew up? These are all questions I had, but didn’t get the chance to ask at the Q&A. I however did learn a few things about the film, like the film also stars hottie Chris Hemsworth and he does take his shirt off ladies. Woot!

The filmmakers Paul Feig (Director) and Katie Dippold (Writer) are huge fans of the original movies. They worked very hard to try and capture the heart of the original movie. They want to make sure there are things in the movie that fans want to see. They don’t want this film to feel like another reboot of a franchise. They want it to be something new and creative for fans to enjoy. Ivan Reitman ( Producer and Director of The Original Ghostbusters film) gives it his stamp of approval and couldn’t be happier for this reintroduction of the Ghostbusters to a whole new audience in a unique new way. If Ivan Reitman approves, that’s all I need to know. I’ll be in the theater with my vintage proton power pack (which I still have by the way).
After the Q&A the filmmakers came out to meet the fans and take a group shot together. They were really awesome. I even got to me Mr. Ivan Reitman! I could have cried. He signed my Ghostbusters press lanyard as well.

Ghostbusters busts it’s way into theatres on July 15, 2016. Summer is going to be one awesome season for movies thanks to this movie!
