Yummy Grilled Garlic Steak Fajitas!

Hey All!

As you all know, I love to cook. So I was thrilled to partner with my local Kroger family store Ralph’s to create a new dish to serve at our Memorial Day cookout. I was so up for the challenge, as I love to create fun recipes each year for our cookout. Since my husband is part Mexican, we don’t usually have stereotypical dishes at our cookouts. They usually have a little Latin flair, which is why I thought to make some Yummy Grilled Garlic Steak Fajitas! They’re flavorful fajitas that you can make from grilling up a marinated steak on the BBQ grill. They are super easy to make and can be paired easily with anything from chips and salsa to potato salad. We’re always happy to combine traditional American dishes with our favorite Latin dishes. I can’t wait to make and serve these up for our Memorial Day cookout. Since I like to test all the recipes I serve to my guests prior to any event I host, I’m sharing how to make them here with you today!

Here is what you’ll need and how to make these!

I got all my ingredients from my local Ralph’s!

  • 1 Package of Flap Meat Steak. Ours cut into two large steaks. (Try to find the leanest cut!)
  • 3 tbsp Minced Garlic

  • 3 tbsp Parsley
  • 3 tbsp of Basil
  • 2 tbsp of Salt
  • 2 tbsp of Pepper
  • 1 Lemon
  • Cilantro
  • 3/4 cup of Olive Oil
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 large sandwich bag for marinating. (We used the Ralph’s Brand Gallon sized bag)
  • 1 Bag of Tortillas
  • 2 Avocados minimum

First you place your Flap Meat Steaks into a gallon storage bag. You’ll slice up your onions and cilantro, then place it into the bag with the steak.

You’ll then place all the remaining ingredients (parsley, salt, pepper, etc.) into the bag as well.

Lastly, you’ll cut the lemon in half and squeeze one half into the bag. You’ll seal up the gallon bag and let the steak marinade over night in your refrigerator. When your ready to grill up the steak, you’ll remove it from the bag and place it on your BBQ grill. You’ll squeeze the second half of the lemon onto the steak and cover it with all the onions and marinade seasoning from the bag.

You’ll grill it until it’s cooked to your liking on the grill. You don’t want to make it too tough, or else it will be harder to slice and place into your tortillas.

Once your steaks are cooked, remove them from the grill and slice into strips.

You place them into a platter, so you can have lots of strips for your guests to put together their fajitas.

Place the steak on a tortilla with some avocado and you’re done. You can also grill up some slice peppers and add cheese, sour cream, and salsa to your fajitas if you’d like.

When I’m having a cookout and grilling outside, I like to keep my fajitas simple. It let’s you enjoy more of the flavors of the meat and it’s less to have to clean up and keep fresh outdoors.

It’s an easy and tasty dish to make and serve at our memorial day cookout!

I’ll be serving mine with some chips, salsa, guacamole, kale salad and potato salad.

We’ll be sipping on some refreshing Jarrito’s orange beverages too! Who doesn’t love some tasty hint of lime tortilla chips with salsa? I know I do! It compliments the fajitas perfectly in my opinion.

That’s what I’ll be cooking for our Memorial Day cookout. I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do! It will surely be a hit at your memorial day cookouts, especially if you want to change it up this year and put a little Latin flair into your annual Memorial Day cookout.
