A Day With Mr. Peabody & Sherman! #WABACWednesday

Hey All!

I recently had the amazing opportunity to attend a press event for the upcoming Dreamworks Animated film Mr. Peabody & Sherman. It was such a fun day as we got ourselves in the Mr. Peabody frame of mind with these fun glasses and a photo booth!

I just so happened to wear the perfect outfit to match the glasses and red bowtie!

At this fantastic event I had the chance to speak with the Director of the film ROB MINKOFF. If you don’t recognize the name, Rob made his directorial debut with the Roger Rabbit animated Shorts “Tummy Trouble” and “Roller Coaster Rabbit.”  He made his feature directorial debut with Disney’s blockbuster hit “The Lion King.” After his successful stint at Disney, Rob left to direct the films “Stuart Little” and “Stuart Little 2” starring Geena Davis, Hugh Laurie and Michael J. Fox.

I also got the chance to speak with TIFFANY WARD. She is the Executive Producer and only daughter of the legendary Jay Ward, producer of the classics:  “Crusader Rabbit,” “Rocky and Bullwinkle,” “Sherman and Peabody,”Fractured Fairy Tales,” “Dudley Do-Right,” “Hoppity Hooper,George of the Jungle,” “Tom Slick,” “SuperChickenand “Cap’n Crunch.”

And if that wasn’t enough, I also got to speak and meet with the amazingly talented Ty Burrell, who will be voicing the famous character of Mr. Peabody in this new film adaptation. He does a fantastic job as the most intelligent four legged creature you will ever see. Ty is one of the stars of the highly successful show Modern Family!

I had two questions, one for Rob and one for the rest of the talent.  Those questions were, “How many historical characters can we see in the film that they’re interacting with?”  We saw a few clips from the film and got to see the characters interact with Da Vinci and King Tut.  I had to know how many characters we will see them interact with?

Here is what Mr. Rob Minkoff had to say.

Well, you know what?  That is an awesome question.  That is an awesome question.  I will have to get back to you on that one with a specific answer, because although we do focus on the events, as I said, Marie Antoinette, we’ll meet, Robespierre we’ll meet.  And we do meet specific characters in these historical episodes.

There’s actually going to be a much larger group of historical figures we’re going to get to meet later in the film, and I don’t want to give that away.

My second questions was, “If you had your own time machine, who would you want to go back and meet?”

Mr. Ty Burrell:  It wouldn’t be very far.  I’d like to go back and meet Buster Keaton, which is not a long trip.  Somebody can figure it out.

Mr. Rob Minkoff:  For me, I’d probably want to go back to 1962 to Liverpool to see the Beatles play at the cavern.

Ms. Tiffany Ward:  They’re better than I am.  I can’t even come up with anything.  But, I was going much further back, like maybe original Rome.

I think they answered perfectly. It was so great to chat with them about this amazing film!
