Hey All!
As part of the Disney Media trip I was on, I went to the LA Zoo in honor of the new Disneynature movie BEARS which opens in theaters this Friday! I didn’t go alone! I had my own little Scout bear plush to enjoy the Zoo with! This plush is special as the Disney Store will contribute $1 to the NATIONAL PARK FOUNDATION for every BEARS plush purchased between now and 5/11/14. Please get your own Amber and Scout Bear Cub here.
Me and my Scout plush had fun at the LA Zoo! We learned about the endangered Condors.
Scout got into the huge Condor egg for fun. It was sad to learn that these animals are becoming extinct from the bullets hunters are using! We need to help these beautiful birds out!
The main reason we were there was to see Scouts fellow Bears! The LA Zoo’s beautiful black bear did not disappoint.
We were thrilled to see a happy and healthy bear roaming about!
After our visit with the bear we saw this adorable Rhino who is actually a cancer survivor…
Isn’t she a beauty?! We saw giant otters…
Hippos in Love…How cute I know!
Chimps…
And this amazing creature with a great singing voice!
Check out the video below to hear them in action:
I also go to ride the merry go round at the zoo. I haven’t done this since I was a child. You forget just how fun these simple things can be when you grow up. I of course rode on the elephant since I love elephants!
As we were leaving this guy gave us a fond farewell. Isn’t he huge!
There is so much to see and learn at the LA Zoo. There is also a lot to learn about bears in Disneynature BEARS!
Check out this Clip of the Bears “Digging Up Clams”…
And this clip of the Bears taking their “First Steps.”
It’s such an educational and beautifully shot film. It will definitely leave you wanting to get out and have a nature experience of your own!

I was provided an all expense paid trip to have this experience. All opinions are my own.

I think bears are an amazing animal. We have 3 black bears at the Knoxville Zoo and I love watching them. We also saw one not 100 feet from us while hiking in the Smoky Mts. a few years back… I had my son on my back and I will tell you it scared me. I just slowly backed up, my husband just stood still. It watched him for a few minutes and then turned around and went back up the hill.
How exciting! The zoo in my city is probably not cool as this one. 🙂
Looks like you had a great time at the LA Zoo!
How fun is that, I love a good zoo! Going to add to my list.
It’s been about 4-5 years since our last zoo visit (San Diego) so I would say we’re about due for another fun trip! The pandas and elephants are always a favorite of mine.
