Talking Costumes, Dogpool, & Dancing With The Cast and Film makers of Deadpool and Wolverine!

Deadpool and Wolverine

Hey All!

Recently we were lucky to be invited to the “Deadpool & Wolverine” virtual press conference. In attendance at the junket was moderator Rob Delaney (who you may also know as Peter from the last Deadpool film), Ryan Reynolds (“Deadpool” and Producer), Hugh Jackman (“Wolverine”), Emma Corrin (“Cassandra Nova”), Matthew Macfadyen (“Mr. Paradox”), Shawn Levy (Director, Writer and Producer), Wendy Jacobson (Executive Producer), Peggy the Dog (“Dogpool”) and Kevin Feige (President, Marvel Studios and Producer).

During the press conference they touched on everything from Deadpool dancing to Dogpool to Wolverine’s famous yellow and blue suit. First and foremost Ryan revealed it is not him dancing during the soon to be much talked about “Bye, Bye, Bye” scene. It’s a professional dancer and if I’m not mistaken, it’s the same dancer who has been dancing in the opening credits in the previous Deadpool films. They are keeping the tradition going for each film.

I have to say I am obsessed with Dogpool and I definitely wanted to know what was she was like on set. Was she easy to work with? Was she a total diva on set? Ryan immediately jumped in to shut down any rumors about Dogpool and spoke about his onset chemistry between himself as Peggy the dog (Dogpool). Reynolds made it clear that he and Peggy the dog have a special bond and that she deserves all the praise.

“Peggy is incredible. Peggy went really from zero to hero on this movie. I’m not kidding,” Reynolds said. “I mean, Peggy won the UK’s Ugliest Dog competition, which, I think, is a cruel contest. I mean, they’re very kind to the dogs, but Peggy is real, a real testament. Wade, my character, falls in love with Peggy because Peggy is the sort of dog version of me. An outcast. Doesn’t look right.”

“A lot of people are obsessed with Peggy,” Levy chimed.

Hugh Jackman touched on how putting the yellow and blue suit on was a highlight for him.

“We were sort of joking a bit before, but the highlight was putting on that suit, the yellow and blue suit, and it had been talked about from the very beginning, right?,” Jackman said. “I mean, that those conversations were there. It wasn’t like it was never mentioned.”

Kevin Feige finally answered a years old mystery about the Wolverine and original X-Men movie suits.

Deadpool and Wolverine

As an associate producer on the first ever X-Men movie, Kevin Feige shared why Wolverine and all the X-Men never wore suits like their characters do in the comics.

“There were studio execs in charge, who said that The Matrix had been a big hit and The Matrix had black leather, so let’s put them in black leather they said” Feige shared.

Everyone was shocked by that answer, even Hugh.

“Finally an answer, after all these years,” Jackman said.

The junket was just as fun as the film. It’s the must see of the summer!

“Deadpool & Wolverine” opens in theaters on July 26, 2024. Get your tickets now!
