Hey All!
Have you seen Blue Beetle yet? Well if you haven’t seen it yet, You should! It’s a great movie and I’m not just saying that. Check out my review HERE! The film hardly got any publicity, so I joined up with the Blue Beetle Battalion to help promote it ourselves. I created this funDIY Blue Beetle Scarab Pumpkin to celebrate the movie!
I love how it turned out! It took a bit of time to finish, but it was worth it to me. I did this in like a day and you can too!
If you’re looking for a cool and different no-carve pumpkin idea for Halloween, check out this Blue Beetle Scarab Pumpkin! Sorry if the in process photos aren’t the best. This was done a little last minute and on a time crunch.
Here is how to make it:
Paint Markers in Light Blue, Silver, Gold, and Pink
Surebonder Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
To make your pumpkin you first paint it blue and let it dry.
Next you paint the stem of the pumpkin gold with the gold paint marker and let it dry.
While the pumpkin dries, you work on the pieces of the Scarab.
I literally looked at a photo of the scarab and hand drew the pieces on a blue pieces of craft foam. You can use the photo above and print it out and use it as a template to cut out your pieces.
I then cut out all the pieces.
I added a light blue outline to the pieces with the light blue paint marker.
I then added the silver details with the silver paint marker. I let that dry and worked on the legs.
I drew the legs on the blue craft foam.
I cut them out and then I outlined the legs with the Pink paint marker.
Then I added details to the legs with the light blue paint marker.
Once all the pieces were dry, I got out my trusty Surebonder Glue Gun and start to glue on all the pieces. I wore finger protectors, so I didn’t burn my fingers with all the small pieces and hot glue.
I glued on the face area first and the feelers.
Then I glued on the body area piece by piece.
If the pieces are too large in areas, cut them down to size.
I glued all the legs on the sides of the pumpkin.
Bend the legs at the bottom slightly so they lean forward.
The glue dries pretty quickly and there you have yourself a Blue Beetle Scarab Pumpkin!
I’m already putting out my Halloween decorations and I can’t wait to put out my Blue Beetle Pumpkin!
Hope you like this pumpkin as much as I do! And go see Blue Beetle! It’s such an important movie! Support Latin Creators!
