Boating Is A Great Way To Spend Your Summer! #DiscoverBoating

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Discover Boating. I received collateral to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

Hey All!

I am very proud to announce that I am a Discover Boating Ambassador thanks to the fabulous folks over at Mom Central. I will be sharing my experience and excitement for boating through out the summer. I didn’t grow up with boats of my own, but boating was actually a big part of my life growing up. We would always go to the boat shows in NYC and my mother actually had many friends who owned boats. They would invite us out on their boats in the Hamptons in NYC almost every summer. It was truly a great way to get a glimpse at a different lifestyle as well as see the possibilities of what you can have in the future.  A large part of American boaters are “middle-class” people believe it or not. You don’t have to be rich to own a boat. I have such fond memories of boating when I was a kid and I grew up always wanting to own a boat of my own.

It’s memories like this that I try to pass on to my own teen, niece and nephew. We go on small boats during the summer and take boat tours of the coast often. We love to be out on the open water! I often visit the Discover Boating website and try their Boat Selector Tool to pick which kind of boat I would love to have for us one day. Hopefully that day will come soon! I highly recommend you check out this site if you’re interested in learning more information on Boating & Kids. It’s summer time and boating is a great out door activity for the whole family.

The site has great educational information on boating that you should definitely check out and a ton of safety tips. You can’t be too safe when boating. Accidents can happen and it’s always good to know what you’re doing when you take to the sea. I always like to have as much information as possible before boating and getting in the water, Especially because I’m not the best swimmer! That doesn’t stop me from getting on boats!

Discover Boating is a nonprofit program supported by the U.S. recreational boating industry to help people get on the water to experience the fun of boating. For those looking to get their feet wet, DiscoverBoating.com is an unbiased online resource to explore the enjoyment and accessibility of the boating lifestyle. Packed with easy, interactive features to familiarize people with all aspects of life on the water, DiscoverBoating.com has a boat selector guide, cost comparison tool, renting options, favorite boating destinations, links to education courses – even nautical lingo and how-to videos.

Boats are awesome! If you’re interested in boating but not sure where to start, check out some boating clubs & organizations near you for more information.
