Celebrating Hispanic Heritage With A Peruvian Lomo Saltado Recipe!

Hey All!

We’re ending out celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month by trying a delicious steak recipe from Peru. I’m Puerto Rican and Cuban and my husband is Mexican, Italian and Native American. We’ve got a heck of a lot of Hispanic family recipes, but I thought it would be fun to try something new that we’ve never tried. Thanks to a fun partnership with Kroger/Ralphs I got to try my hand at making some Peruvian Lomo Saltado aka Peruvian Stripsteak Stir Fry!

I asked a family friend who is Peruvian for her family recipe, but changed it up a lot by added some Knorr products and other seasoning it to make it my own. I got all the ingredients to make my little recipe hack at Ralphs! Kroger/Ralphs has some awesome in-store promotions and coupons that you can download to your Kroger or Ralphs App to use during Hispanic Heritage Month. The coupons and promos feature lots of our favorite brands that you can most likely use to make this recipe! You can use these promos and coupons to make this recipe or to try some new Hispanic recipes you’ve been wanting to try!

Kroger/Ralphs is the perfect place to shop for all your Hispanic cuisines and recipes! It’s a foodie paradise that includes brands and flavors of every culture. It’s where we shop for all our groceries each week!

Here is how to make it:

  • 1 lb of sirloin strip steak cut into strips
  • 1/2 Red Onion cut into strips
  • 1 Red Pepper cut into strips
  • 2 Tablespoons of Parsley
  • 2 Tablespoons of white vinegar
  • 2 Teaspoons of Salt and Pepper
  • 1 Teaspoon of Sazonador Total
  • 1 Pinch of Beef and Tomato Knorr Granulated Bouillon 7.9 oz
  • 2 Teaspoons Olive Oil
  • Frozen Salt & Pepper Flavored French Fries for a side

First you cut up your red onion and pepper into strips. You also cut your sirloin strip steak into strips and place them into your pan at medium heat.

You then season the meat with your parsley, white vinegar, salt and pepper, olive oil, and Sazonador Total.

You then open up your Beef and Tomato Knorr Granulated Bouillon and add a pinch for both to your steak.

Lastly, add your peppers and onions to the top of the strips of seasoned steak into the pan.

Stir the meat and vegetables in the pan until the meat is cooked completely through.

You don’t want to cook the meat for too long or it will become too tough to chew. It will become like beef jerky tough!

Once your steak is almost done, begin to heat up your fries in the oven.

Once your fries are done, serve them with your Lomo Saltado and enjoy!

It’s the perfect combination of not too spicey and flavorful! I think it’s the perfect dinner or lunch meal to end our Hispanic Heritage Month celebration with.

I hope you enjoy this amazing Peruvian themed recipe as much as I do!
