Hey All!
As you know being charitable is something I hold dear to my heart, especially when it comes to helping children in need. Thanks to the Champions for Kids Campaign I get to donate to an organization that helps many kids get some amazing art supplies by using my knowledge of “Couponing” for Children in need. As you know from my previous posts you can give for little to no money by donating what you don’t use around you home or you can use coupons to donate for little to no money. You can sometimes use coupons to pay for your items that you’d like to Donate or get them for little to know money. I was on a mission for clothing and Art supplies to donate to my favorite local Organization Children Mending Hearts!
This organization is dedicated to empowering disadvantaged youth through educational and arts programs. I consider myself very artistic and I couldn’t imagine my kids or any child not being able to express themselves artistically. Having Art classes was my favorite time in school and every kid should have that experience in my opinion.
Children not having the arts in their lives is something that is very tragic to me and it’s something I always try to fight for in our neighborhood schools and local organizations. It’s something that is often overlooked and undervalued, and I always hope that my small donations that I make can help make a difference. And this opportunity to help is just a great way to do this. So I got out my coupons and got them ready to go. I cut, deal matched, and organized. I had a whole stack of coupons and I put them into my amazing Savvy Cents Wallet, which I LOVE and Can’t live with out now, just fyi, I digress…
I also made a list as I always do every time I shop to make sure I’m getting everything I need and I always just stick to my list. Well…most of the time.
And I took off to my local Walmart on a Mission for Art and Craft supplies and clothing for the kids in need.
I actually got my teen to get up at 7am and come along with me for once. I thought it would be good for him to see how easy it is to do something nice for someone else. Since I was at Walmart I couldn’t resist picking up my favorite Magazine “All You”!
This month’s magazine has almost $80 worth of coupons inside, hence why I always pick one up at Walmart when I go. I actually subscribe to this magazine, but I always get an extra copy since the one on the news stand is always a little different. I digress again…
We headed for the chidren’s art supply section after we stopped in the Easter section to get a few things to donate that were cute like these adorable Mickey and Minnie Shirts.
We got lots of crayons, color pencils, and construction paper for the kids.
We filled our cart with lots of goodies to give to the kids. We even got them a Giant Coloring Book. We were trying to decide on either Winne the Pooh or Spider Man
We did get these Birthday Cake Oreos for ourselves along with some other things we needed grocery wise. I mean it’s not every day that Oreo Cookies turn 100 right?
We then headed to the register to hand over our coupons and to pay for everything we got to donate.
I made sure to watch as my coupons were being scanned as every couponer should!
After we were done, we got home and put everything together for the kids to take over to the organization.
I think the kids are going to love all the fun stuff we got for them. Lots of Disney Crafts and we even put it in a little Disney Bucket to take over.

I hope you will take the time to donate to your local school and charity to help children in need however you can. It doesn’t take a lot of time or money to do something to help someone in need. If I can do it you can!
I’ll give you an update when I make the donation this week!
