Hey All!

I recently had the amazing opportunity to sit down with the cast and filmmakers of the new film The Nice Guys and it was honestly a dream come true. I have been wanting to meet Ryan Gosling and Joel Silver for some time and they were amazing in person. Ryan even gave me a fist bump as we chatted. We got along like we were two besties catching up. I sadly was not allowed to take pictures with the talent, so sadly I only have the memory of it to remember this swoon moment by. In attendance on this fantastic media day were the incredible Ryan Gosling, the awesome Russell Crowe, the legendary Joel Silver and Shane Black, the adorable Angourie Rice, and the great co-writer of the film Anthony Bagarozzi. I learned some amazing behind the scenes stories and facts about the film from these fantastic actors/filmmakers and today I wanted to share five of them with you in honor of the films release.

Nice Guys Media Day Set up 1

Before I get started with the 5 fun facts, let me just show you a little of how I was transported back in time to the 70’s at this media event. They had the entire area decorated to look like almost a 70’s porn palace. I kid you not. There were vintage movie posters from old porns every where and a few made me blush to say the least! If you follow me on Snapchat, you got to see what I am talking about. I snapped the entire area that day.

Nice Guys Media Day Set up 2

It was incredible to see and I was super impressed. Way to go Warner Brothers! I just had to share that. First of all, if you haven’t heard of this film, The Nice Guys unfolds in 1970s Los Angeles, when down-on-his-luck private eye Holland March (Gosling) and hired enforcer Jackson Healy (Crowe) become the unlikeliest of partners. Working together, they have to find a missing girl who seems to have a target on her back. And is her case related to the violent death of porn star Misty Mountain in a car crash? During their investigation, March and Healy begin to uncover a shocking conspiracy that reaches up to the highest circles of power…and just might get them both killed. It’s a super fun movie to see and if you liked the movie Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, you will love this movie.

Here are the 5 fun facts I learned:

1. Ryan Gosling met with Russel Crowe prior to making the film and though he was attending a small dinner with Russel and his wife. He unknowingly walked into a huge dinner party that he even met the RZA at. It was supposed to be a small dinner party, but Russel’s then wife didn’t tell him she had invited 12 of her girlfriends to meet Ryan at the dinner. Russel had to quickly invite 12 friends so it seemed like it was planned that way and it was not.

2. Ryan and Angourie Rice (she playes his daughter in the film) met up before the film to carve pumpkins and get to know each other. She LOVES the movie Crazy, Stupid, Love and has kept that a secret from Ryan. She was thrilled to tell her friends back in Melbourne, Australia (where she is from) that she was working with Ryan on a film.

3. Shane Black and Joel Silver have been working on this film together since before he made Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Shane and Anthony wrote it together for over a decade and are happy to bring back the buddy cop movies for a new younger audience.

4. Russel Crowe jokingly told Matt Bomer “This is for Magic Mike!” before they acted out a fight scene to relax him and make him laugh.

5. Ryan Gosling said he channeled Abbot and Costello for some of his physical comedy bits in the film. He does it perfectly!!
