Hey All!

With back-to-school time around the corner, I wanted to make a fun and easy tasty treat to celebrate the beginning of the new school year with. Check out these cute DIY Back To School Book Rice Krispy Treats! They are perfect to quickly make for those classroom parties or you can even make them just as a special treat for your kids first day of school. If you’re starting a new teaching job, these would also be great to take in to your new students. I’m sure you’ll win teacher of the year with these! They are a fun and easy treat you and your kids can make together to kick the school year off right!

Here is what you’ll need to make them!

  • 2—2.2 oz. Rice Krispies Treats bars
  • 1 can Pillsbury White Frosting
  • 1 Black Licorice String
  • 3 White Airheads Candy
  • Food Coloring in Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Pink
  • Edible Writing Marker, Black

First you cut each Rice Krispies Treat into 3 equal pieces.

You then put 1-2 tablespoons of frosting into each of 6 bowls and mix a different food coloring into each one.

You then frost each treat with a different color frosting.

To make it look like a school book, you put 3 dots of white frosting along the long edge of each treat. I used a plastic bag and piped them on or you can just use a knife.

To label each book, cut 6 small rectangular pieces of the airhead candy that will fit on the treats. Write a school subject on each one and place on each treat.

Follow that by cutting ¼ inch pieces of licorice and laying one on each of the white dots to resemble a notebook spiral.

That’s it! You’re done! Serve them to all your favorite students going back to school! They are such a cute and fun to make for back to school!

They don’t have to be perfect, they just have to be tasty and fun!

Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
