Hey All!

Today we’re coming at you with a super cute and easy to do couples costume idea themed with one of our favorite frozen treats to get at Disneyland. It’s Dole Whip folks! I don’t know about you, but I would eat buckets of this stuff if you let me. It was only right to do a Halloween costume about it to show our Dole Whip love. I’m dressed as the Dole Whip and my husband is dressed as the Disneyland Tiki Room Dole Whip Stand guy. How fun is this idea folks! You honestly don’t have to make much. YOu only have to make the Dole Whip headpiece and a large wooden spoon. The rest you can simply use clothes you have around the house.

How-To-DIY-Recipes

Sorry I didn’t take pictures of the step by steps of how to make the head piece. I got too excited while making it, I forgot to snap pics. That’s my bad! But I’ll give you very detailed instructions as it’s not to hard to make.

First you take your box cutter and cut out a circle from your round Styrofoam, so you have a base for your Dole Whip Swirl. It doesn’t have to be perfect as you will be gluing the Dole Whip made out of the fleece fabric to it and covering it with a cardboard bowl.

After you have your base, you start making your Dole Whip. I made it in 4 sections, starting with the bottom biggest swirl, then second largest, medium, and then the top where the cherry will go.

You take your yellow fleece fabric and twist it around your Aluminum Craft Wire. You twist it around the wire and then curve the fleese and the wire into a circle. The wire will hold it in place. You then cut the fabric and do the second size and the third size the same way. When you get to the top you want to twist the fabric and the wire so it leaves like a little peak of fabric, so it looks like a Dole Whip that just came out of the soft serve machine. You then glue the largest bottom piece to your Styrofoam circle base and then glue each layer of twisted circle fabric on top of it. You’ll form the Dole Whip shape! You then cut out a curved piece of white poster board to make your bowl. I cut a party hat in half and used that as a template for the bowl shape. You then glue the white poster board bowl to the foam base and fabric Dole Whip together with your glue gun.

You then glue the whole completed Dole Whip to your white headband with your glue gun and lastly glue the cherry to the top of your Dole Whip with your glue gone. You can see the Twisting and the layers in the close up of the headpiece below. Hopefully this all makes sense to you guys! It’s really simple!

When you’re done with your headpiece, cut out a big spoon from your white poster board and your done!

You get dressed in what ever Yellow Outfit you have and your partner gets dressed in what ever Mickey Ears, Hawaiian Shirt, and Apron that they have. You’re then ready to get your Dole Whip groove on for Halloween!
