DIY Macaron Pumpkins!

Hey All!

I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty bummed out about this being our final week and weekend before Halloween. This month just flew by! If you’re looking for some last minute pumpkin ideas that you could easily throw together, check out our DIY Macaron Pumpkins! I love me some macaron cookies and I love Sugar & Cloth who is the macaron qweeennnn! I love following her glossary of the macs, so I decided to make some macaron pumpkins inspired by her and my shared love of macarons. They are super easy to make and there is no carving involved! Woot Woot!

You can make one or three to stack up like some macarons.

If you love macarons as much as I do, you’ll definitely need a macaron pumpkin this Halloween. Here is how to make them!

  • Pastel Pink, Blue, and Yellow Paint.
  • White and Pastel Pink, Blue and Yellow Tissue Paper.
  • Craft Glue.
  • Paint Brush.
  • 3 of These Paper Mache Pumpkins or any pumpkin you’d like to paint.

First you paint your pumpkins pastel pink, blue, and yellow. You can paint them any color you’d like of course. I chose some traditional macaron colors. Add a few coats of paint, so the color is bold on the pumpkin. Let them dry completely.

Take your white tissue paper and roll it into a rectangular piece like you see above. It’s almost like a belt you’re going to wrap around your pumpkin.

Next you take two pieces of your blue, pink, and yellow tissue paper and twist them around like you see above. You twist the entire piece down to the ends.

You then use your craft glue to glue the white tissue paper piece down the middle of your pumpkin. Make sure to push the paper into the grooves of the pumpkin, so it’s flushed against the pumpkin. Glue the ends together on the back overlapping each other, so it looks seamless.

Repeat that same process with the twisted pieces except you’ll place one piece at the top and bottom of the white piece. This will simulate the center opening of a macaron.

Glue the ends together for each piece and pinch them together, so they look like one piece.

Let them dry and there you have yourself a cute little macaron Halloween pumpkin!

How cute are these folks! You can easily get these done in time for Halloween with any pumpkin you have and we all have some left over tissue paper from some holiday or gift.

I hope you love these DIY Macaron Pumpkins as much as I do!
