Hey All!
So happy to share the first of our Disney Inspired Family Halloween Costumes today. This one is inspired by the adorable new candy corn colored Mickey and Minnie cake pops that are being sold at Walt Disney World this Halloween season. As soon as I saw these cake pops I knew I wanted to make a costume out of them. I made these fun Mickey and Minnie Mommy and Me Candy Corn Cake Pop costumes for me and my bubbly baby to wear at Disneyland this Halloween season.
When Disney shared the picture above I knew I had to do some kind of DIY for them.
It was so fun to make and dress up in the costumes at Disneyland.
We had a blast in Cars land and we got so many compliments about them.
They are super easy to make and you can use some items you may have for you and your baby already in your closets.
Here is what you’ll need to make them!
- Orange, White and Yellow Craft Foam (Got at Michaels)
- Thin piece of cardboard
- Glue Gun
- White Headbands
- Scissors
- Orange dress
- White Leggings
- Orange Shoes
- Baby Orange Sweatpants
- Candy Corn Baby Shoes
- Baby White Tee
- Baby Mickey Hat (I used the hat from this set!)
- White Elastic Ribbon
- Velcro Dots
- White Felt Fabric.
First you cut a gum drop like white shape with Mickey Ears from the white craft foam. You then cut a rectangular strips from the yellow and orange craft foam and glue all the pieces together with your glue gun.
Cut two round small 1.5 inch circles from the orange craft foam to make the buttons.
Glue all the pieces together and cut out the cake pop shape from the three combined pieces. Cut out a bow shape from the orange craft foam and a yellow circle and candy corn bottoms from the yellow craft foam. You then cut a thin strip from the white craft foam and a strip from the card stock to make the cake pop stick.
Glue all those pieces together to make the Minnie and Mickey Candy Corn Cake Pops. I then glued the baby’s Mickey cake pop to his Mickey hat. I glued mine to a headband and one to a belt covered in white felt fabric.
I added some velcro dots to his white baby tee to stick the cake pop onto the shirt. I left the baby’s cake pop stick floppy, but I glued the strip of cardboard behind my cake pops headband stick to make it more sturdy.
I wore an orange dress, white tights, and orange shoes with my cake pop belt and headband.
The baby wore his orange pants, white tee, and candy corn bay moccs with his mini cakepop pieces.
How cute is he folks? Love it!
We took these pics with our cell phone and we used Disneyland Photopass to get some fun shots of the costumes together.
How cute is this! You can make it as a fun Mommy and Me or you can make it solely as a costume for yourself to wear to the Disney Parks.
See they aren’t too hard to make and you’ll definitely be the sweetest costume at Disneyland or Disney World!
Hope you enjoy these costumes just as much as I do! You can find more fun Halloween Costume ides HERE!
Happy Halloween Time at Disneyland!
