DIY Pizza Brooches, Slice Pins & Mini Pizza Boxes!

Hey All!

Ninja Turtles: Out of The Shadows is out now and I hope you got to check it out over the weekend. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you should definitely see our thoughts on the film HERE and run out to see it ASAP! It’s definitely a movie for those who grew up loving Ninja Turtles and it’s also a great movie the whole family can enjoy together. If you’re like me, you like to dress up with some geeky gear to pay homage to your favorite characters when you go see a movie. That’s why I made these DIY Pizza Brooches, Slice Pins & Mini Pizza Boxes, so you can bring some pizza flair to the turtles. You can also gift one to your friend in these cute mini pizza boxes.

I’m absolutely in love with them and here is how to make them. You’ll need the following supplies.

Pin Backs, Shoe Clips, and Ring Bases
Scissors or a Cricut Craft Cutting Machine
Printer
Printable Shrinky Dink Sheets
Parchment paper
Cookie Baking sheet
E6000 Glue
Glue Gun

Download Our Pizza Images and Pizza Box Wording Printables.

First you print our pizza images printables onto the Shrinky Dink sheet with your printer. You then cut them out with your scissors. You then place the cut pieces on parchment paper on top of a cookie baking sheet. You then bake them at 325 degrees for about one and a half minutes. You don’t want to bake them for too long, as you don’t want them to get too small. They won’t be brooch size if they get too small. You can test out a piece of Shrinky Dink scrap to see how long to bake it as well.

Once they are baked to size, you let them cool. They harden and cool very quickly. You then use your E6000 glue or hot glue gun to glue the pin backs to the large brooch pizzas and slices. Let the glue dry and you’re done with your pizza fun flair.

You then fold up and form you mini pizza boxes. You can either load the pizza box wording into your Cricut Design Space and cut out the wording from red vinyl and stick it onto the box (which is what I did). Or you can just print the wording on some white cardstock or paper and simply glue it on to your boxes. Either way looks cute!

You make as many little pizza boxes as you’d like. I’m sure you’d like your own pizza flair girl gang with you when you see the new Ninja Turtles.

I’m also sure anyone who gets a mini pizza brooch and pizza slice pin inside a little pizza box as a gift will be over the moon in love with it, because it is such a cute little gift!
