Hey All!
It is National Pumpkin Day and with Halloween around the corner, Now is the time to snag those last minute pumpkins for Halloween if you haven’t already! You could get real ones or fake ones. It doesn’t matter, as long as you decorate them in your own unique way. If you’ve waited until the last minute to make your Halloween pumpkins, here is a fun and simple way to make DIY Smiley Face Halloween Pumpkins. It’s a quick, easy, and unique way to decorate your pumpkins this year. I was inspired to make these as soon as I got these adorable Smiley Face Balloons from my friend Oh Happy Day’s Online Party store.
Here is what you’ll need to make this happy little yellow pumpkins.
- Yellow Spray Paint
- Fake or Real Medium Sized Pumpkins (About 6 Inches Wide)
- Black Vinyl
- Cricut Explore Cutting Machine (If You Don’t have a Cricut, You can simply DOWNLOAD and cut out this Free Printable and glue it on your pumpkins with craft glue.)
Simply right click on the image to upload it to your Cricut Design Space or CLICK on the image below to download the PDF to print and cut out to stick on to your pumpkins.
First you spray paint your pumpkins yellow. You let these dry completely for a few hours or even over night to be safe.
Once your pumpkins are dry, you cut out your vinyl faces. I made mine with a handy Cricut Explore crafting machine, but you can also print out the free printable I provided and cut out the face and glue it to the pumpkin with craft glue or you can use the printable as a template to cut it our of your vinyl. Those are two other options on how to make this pumpkin with out a Cricut Explore.
I simply uploaded my image to my Cricut Explore and cut out the faces.
Once the Smiley Faces were cut, I stuck them on each pumpkin starting with the mouth and then the two eyes.
How cute and simple are these pumpkins? LOVE THEM!
They are sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face who trick-or-treats at your home this Halloween.
I think they came out spot on to the balloons.
I like my pumpkins to be cute instead of scary for Halloween.
If you’re looking to carve your pumpkin instead, you can download this free printable Disney Pixar The Good Dinosaur Pumpkin Stencil Template as well. Just click on the image to download the PDF document with the stencil. I just had to share it as I thought it would be a cute pumpkin to carve on National Pumpkin Day, if spray painting isn’t your thang!
I hope you enjoy making these DIY Smiley Faced Pumpkins as much as I do! I have one more pumpkin to share today that I’m working feverishly on. The force is strong with this pumpkin I warn you!
