Hey All!
Since yesterday was a holiday, we decided to take the day off and continue our ice cream month celebration today with this fun DIY Splattered Ice Cream Sun Hat! It’s awesome, I know! I’m obsessed with it. It’s such a cute and fun hat to wear for the summer. It’s also the perfect hat to wear on National Ice Cream Day as well. It’s coming up soon, so you better get ready to show your ice cream pride with this fun hat! It doesn’t take much time to make and you’ll have a fun hat to wear as you soak up some sunshine all summer long.
Here is how to make it:
- One Pink Floppy Beach Hat
- White, Hot Pink, Yellow, Aqua, Orange Fabric Safe Paints. Or any colors you’d like to use.
- Fake Cherry
- Glue Gun
- Paint Brushes
- Paint Brush Sponges
First you paint on your white ice cream color paint on to your hat. You paint the top of the hat with a brush and work your way down to the base of the hat. You then use your sponge brush to make the splattered pattern around the base of the hat.
You let the white layer dry and then add the pink layer of topping on top of the white layer. It should look like its spilling off the sides of the top of the hat.
You let the pink layer dry and once it’s dry, you then proceed to put on your sprinkles.
You cover the whole top of the hat with little lines to look like sprinkles. Let the whole hat dry completely. It usually takes an hour for the whole had to dry.
Once the hat is completely dry, The last step is to heat up your glue gun and glue a cherry to the center of the top of the hat.
Make sure the cherry is secure and you’re done! Woot! You made yourself a cute ice cream themed beach hat!
See ice cream splattered is so sad, but it’s so darn cute at the same time! It goes perfectly with my ice cream sippy cup and hand fan.

It’s a cute hat to wear on Derby day next year as well.
