Did you know you can donate gently-worn coats at your nearby Burlington to help those locally in need? We have a closet full of coats we don’t even wear any more since we’ve either grown out of them or they just aren’t in style any more. I remember going as a child to Burlington in New Jersey (since we couldn’t find one in NYC) to get my coats. I also remember being ridiculously poor and having to walk around with holes in my coat and remember freezing because the holes would let in all the cold. My poor Mom did the best she could, but it would have been great to have programs like this that give to those in need back in the day. No one should have to freeze because they don’t have a coat to keep them warm. For all these reasons I’m taking the time to donate a coat at Burlington. Identify gently-worn coats in your closet (your coat, your significant other’s coat, kids coats, etc.) that are ready for donation and bring them to your nearby Burlington store to donate.
Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Find a coat that your child has outgrown or a coat that no longer fits your needs
- Have your family, along with a few friends and their families join you in the effort and complete the good deed as a group!
