Hey All!
The super kind folks at Nestlé La Lechera were kind enough to send me a surprise gift basket filled with some of my favorite products like Dulce de Leche! When I get a big box of goodies like that I always ponder what I can make with it. I said to myself I haven’t made any delicious and fun cupcakes in a while. I should do something fun with cupcakes. I still have tons of Lindt chocolate truffles since I won a year supply and I decided to make a Dulce de Leche Chocolate Truffle Surprise Cupcakes recipe to share with all of you fabulous readers. Sounds amazing I know!
Here is the recipe below:
- 1 Box of White Cake Mix and ingredients your box stats are needed for the mix
- 1 Half of A Can of La Lechera Dulce de Leche
- 2 Tablespoons of Cinnamon
- 1 Teaspoon of Nutmeg
- Lindt Chocolate Truffles in Any Flavor you'd like. (I used Milk and Caramel)
- Cupcake Liners. I used a Meri Meri flower cupcake kit.
- 1 Container of White Whipped Frosting
- Green food coloring
- First you mix up your cake batter following the directions on the box of your cake mix.
- You also add your Nutmeg and Cinnamon to this mix.
- Once the cake mix is smooth and well blended you add half of the small can of Dulce de Leche to the cake batter.
- You pour the batter into your cupcake liners and bake until the cupcakes are golden in color.
- I always do a pick test where I poke the cupcake to make sure they are cooked inside.
- You let the cupcakes cool for 2 minutes and then you press a Lindt Truffle into each of the cupcakes.
- You let the cupcakes cool for another 3-4 minutes.
- You then mix up your White Whipped Frosting with Green food coloring and frost your cupcake.
- I used a piping bag to make them look pretty but you can frost them how ever you'd like.
- I added the little paper flower picks to my cupcakes so they look like little flower pots as they came with my cupcake liner kit.
- Thanks it you're done. Serve and enjoy!
As with all my recipes I do like to show some photos of the steps I took to make the recipe as well.
I first mixed up the batter and added the Dulce de Leche to the batter.
I baked the cupcakes according the the cake mix directions and until they looked golden brown.
I waited for them to cool for 2 minutes and then added a Lindt Chocolate Truffle to the center of each of my cupcakes.
I then pipped the green frosting onto my cupcakes to hide the truffle hidden in the center of the cupcakes.
I got this adorable cupcake liner set from Meri Meri which came with paper flower cupcake toppers so the cupcakes look like little flower pots.
I think it was the perfect way to decorate my cupcakes.
These would totally make an adorable teacher gift or a gift for Mom or that special someone in your life. Who wouldn’t love little cupcake flower pots with a hidden yummy chocolatey center?! I know I would!
I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do!
