Hey All!
Father’s Day is around the corner and I wanted to make a delicious recipe for my hubby and dad to enjoy. They LOVE all things bacon with a passion, so I decided to make a bacon themed recipe that you can easily create with Wright® Brand Naturally Hickory Smoked Bacon from Walmart! Today I’m showing you how to make these Easy Double Baked Bacon Potatoes for Father’s Day. They are so tasty and your special dad will love them!
I chose to make it with Wright Brand Bacon because it’s thick-cut bacon that is filled with flavor! It is also hand-selected and hand-trimmed, then 100% wood smoked over hickory chips for eight hours; packaged in a re-sealable bag for ease and convenience. I headed to my local Walmart and got myself some of this awesome bacon to test out my recipe.
Believe it or not, you can really find the highest quality bacon (like Wright Brand Bacon) at Walmart!
Here is how to make them!
- 3 large baking potatoes
- 5 slices Wright Brand Naturally Smoked Hickory Bacon
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 and 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese. Divide into two halves.
- 8 green onions, sliced and diced.
- Aluminum foil
- 2 Baking sheet pans
To get started you first preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Then, poke two holes in your 3 baked potatoes and wrap them up in aluminum foil. Bake the potatoes in the oven for 1 hour.
You then place your bacon slices on a baking pan and bake the bacon for 15-20 minutes until the bacon is crunchy. Remove the bacon from the oven and cut into pieces.
When the potatoes are done baking, let them to cool for 10-15 minutes. Once they are cool, slice the potatoes in half and scoop the inside of the baked potato into a large bowl. Make sure you don’t poke a hole through the skin and save the shell of the baked potato half with the skin.
In your bowl with the insides of your baked potato, add your milk, butter, salt, pepper, cheese and half of the chopped green onions. Mix with a hand mixer until well blended and spoon the mixture into the potato skins. Top each filled bake potato half with the remaining cheese, green onions and bacon and bake for another 15-20 minutes.
Once they are finished baking, place them on a dish and serve! You can serve them with a fun Father’s Day themed drink…
Or with some tasty homemade biscuits.
Who doesn’t love a tasty baked potato topped with lots of bacon and a warm biscuit? I know I do!
These are so good and easy to make! I know my hubby and dad are going to love them as much as I do this Father’s Day!
I’m so happy I made them with some Wright Brand Naturally Hickory Smoked Bacon! They take these baked potatoes to a whole new taste level. That hickory smoked thick premium bacon truly does make all the difference!
I highly recommend you head out to your local Walmart and snag some for yourself and your special dad for Father’s Day!
