Easy Halloween Zombie Cookie Recipe!

Hey All!

As I was searching Bisquick.com for some amazing Halloween recipes, I discovered a fabulous Halloween Cutout Cookie Recipe that I couldn’t resist. I knew I wanted to make some cookies for Halloween and who knew you could make cookies with Bisquick! AWESOME! What’s even better as it has ingredients that I already have in my kitchen.

I recently got a zombie cookie cutter kit and I immediately thought I’m going to make Zombie cookies instead of the Pumpkins the recipe calls for you to make. I adapted the recipe slightly from the original simply to make the dough green, not chocolate, and to cut our Zombies with the cookie cutters.

Here is what you’ll need to make the Zombie cookies:

  • 4 cups Bisquick™ Original baking mix
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 11 drops yellow GREEN food color
  • Betty Crocker black decorating gel
  • Betty Crocker red decorating Icing
  • Betty Crocker Orange decorating Icing
  • Zombie Shaped Cookie Cutters
  • Parchment paper

Directions:

1. Stir powdered sugar, margarine, vanilla and eggs in large bowl until well blended. Stir in baking mix until soft dough forms. Mix green food color dough. You may want to use your hands for this so the dough gets really green. Cover and refrigerate dough for 2 hours or until chilled.

2. Heat oven to 400°. Roll dough about 1/8 inch thick on floured cloth-covered board. (Keep remaining dough refrigerated until ready to roll.) Cut dough with Zombie shaped cookie cutters. Then place them about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. I put parchment paper down on my cookie sheets as well.

3. Bake 5 minutes or until edges are light brown. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack or let them cook in the area you’ll be decorating them in. Make sure to let them cool completely. Make faces and clothes on the zombies with icing and gel.

That’s it! Super simple to make with items and ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen!

My favorites of the decorated cookies are this little guy zombie…

And this girl Zombie!

These are sure to be a hit at your Halloween parties and festivities. They are going to fit perfectly with our Zombie themed decor and themed party we’re having this year!
