Cute Berry Emoji Waffle

Hey All!

Mother’s Day has passed, but the memories are living on thanks to the fun brunch I created to celebrate the day. I wanted to take the time to share one of the tasty treats I made for the brunch and it’s these fun berries emoji themed waffles. They were so easy to make and just too cute not to share. I figured all my readers would love to know how to make them as they were filled with delicious fresh berries. I’m so happy I can enjoy fresh berries for longer periods of time thanks to my Rubbermaid® Freshworks™. They are a new food storage container that uses revolutionary FreshVent™ technology to keep produce fresher up to 80% longer! This is of course when compared to regular store packaging they come in. That’s pretty amazing in my book.

Having fresh berries in the fridge allows for more time to come up with fun brunch ideas like these.

They are dishwasher safe and BPA free. It also has a CrispTray™ (that you can see under the strawberries above) that elevates produce away from moisture and promotes proper airflow to help prevent spoilage.

Rubbermaid Containers

I have three different sizes (Small: $9.99; Medium: $12.99; Large: $15.99) to store my fruits and veggies in.

Rubbermaid berries

These berries have been in the fridge for a week if you can believe it or not.

Rubbermaid Bluberries

The blueberries not in these containers get soft, wrinkle up and get this white mold on them after a few days. It’s pretty yucky and it can affect all the berries.

The biggest shocker is these strawberries. Yes, these too have been in the fridge for a week!

Rubbermaid Strawberries

Normally these would become soft and end up covered in that white fuzz mold with in few days if they were in their regular store packaging. Like these you see below which were kept out for a few days. Another day left in a package like this and the whole package would be covered in mold.

It’s always been so upsetting and such a waste of money since we would have to throw whole containers out. Thankfully we’re done with that problem, thanks to these Rubbermaid® Freshworks™. We can at least have a week to finish an entire container of strawberries and not just a day.

Since all my berries were still fresh, I made some fun waffles for our Mother’s Day brunch. We always have waffles for our brunch and adding fresh berries is always tasty and fun. Making them into my favorite emoji is even better.

To make these emoji themed berry covered waffles you’ll need:

Supplies-DIY-Recipes

  • Frozen Waffles or make some waffles with your favorite recipe.
  • Fresh Strawberries, Blueberries, and Raspberries (For garnish).
  • Syrup.
  • Small knife.

How-To-DIY-Recipes

First you make some waffles. I chose to use some regular frozen waffles to make it quick and easy. You first toast up some frozen waffles in your toaster. Make sure you don’t make them too dark so they keep that yellow coloring.

You then add some blueberries to the waffle in the shape of a mouth for your emoji. You take your strawberries and cut them in halves. Use your knife to then cut the strawberry halves into heart shapes. Place the heart strawberries at the top of your waffle for eyes.

Garnish the rest of the plate with berries and serve with your favorite syrup. Boom! You’re done and you have an adorable heart eyes tasty emoji themed waffle. You can see the animated gif below for a step by step as well.
