Can you believe the Holidays are almost here? I know it’s still only October, but it’s never to early to get your car ready for this high driving season. I’ve lived in NYC the majority of my life where the sleet and snow awaits everyone in the coming months. I now live in Sunny California where rain awaits me. I’ve had experience getting myself and my car ready for the Holidays on each side of the coasts. I know with all the traveling to see family for the Holidays this is the time to make sure your car is ready to handle the travel.
Here are some tips that I felt would help get anyone on each coast ready for their seasonal travel:
Check oil and other fluids. You always want to have new oil if you’re driving a long distance.
Keep blankets/first aid in your car!
Check your brakes and replace them if you need to. You should not drive long distances.
Change windshield wipers. Like I said it rains a ton here in California during the winter season so I always need new windshield wipers.
Check your lights and make sure you don’t need new bulbs. You’ll need your bulbs to work as it can get foggy during this season.
Get some good tire chains. If you get a lot of snow in your area you definitely will need some to not get stuck in the snow.
Check your tires for flats or wear. Make sure you aren’t due for new tires. You don’t want to drive with warn out tires. You can skid easily when tires are worn.
