Halloween Edible Ghostbusters Cupcake Toppers!

Hey All!

This Halloween we’re all about the throwback to our childhood in the 80’s and 90’s. This year we were all about Hocus Pocus and Ghostbusters! Yes folks we’re taking it back to Ghostbusters today with theseĀ Halloween Edible Ghostbusters Cupcake Toppers! There is bound to be a Ghostbuster at your Halloween parties this year, so why not make a tasty treat they will go bananas for. These are a super cute themed Halloween treat. Who doesn’t love the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man? I know I do!

Here is how to make these!

  • 1 Dozen Vanilla Cupcakes inside Red Cupcake Liners.
  • 3 Egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tarter
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 3 1/2 C powdered sugar
  • Red, Blue and Black gel food coloring
  • 1 Black edible marker, fine tip
  • 4 #2 icing tips
  • 1 #1 icing tip
  • 4 disposable piping bag
  • 3 small bowls
  • Ghostbuster logo printed, about 3 inches in height and 2 inches in width
  • Stay Puft Marshmallow man image printed, about 2.5 inches in height and 3 inches in width
  • 1 cookie sheet lined with parchment paper

Using a standing mixer, beat together the egg whites, cream of tarter, almond extract and powdered sugar until combined and stiff with peaks.

Divide the icing into 4 bowls. Add a few drops Black into the first bowl and mix until combined. Add a few drops of Red into the second bowl and mix until combined. Add a few drops of Blue into the third bowl and mix until combined. Make sure to leave the fourth bowl white.

Scoop icing into their own bags and make the Ghostbusters Logo.

To make the Ghostbusters logo:

Place image under parchment paper.

Using the black piping bag, outline the black detail of the image.

Using the red piping bag, pipe the red detail of the image.

Using the white piping bag, fill in the detail of the ghost.

Allow to dry over night and you’re done.

Using the black icing with a number 1 tip, Add the detail of the ghost’s face. Allow to dry for 2 hours and you’re done.

Next Make The Stay Puft Marshmallow man:

Place image under parchment paper.

Using the black piping bag, pipe the outline of the marshmallow man.

Using the red piping bag, pipe the scarf detail of the image.

Using the blue piping bag, fill in the blue detail of the image.

Using the white piping bag, fill in the rest of the image. Allow to dry overnight. Using the edible marker, draw out the face detail.

That’s all you have to do to make these. How cute are these folks? Love them!

I have to say the Stay Puft is my favorite. He’s just too darn cute!
