Make A Halloween Mickey Mask Chain!

As we all should be wearing masks where ever we go to stay safe, it can sometimes be a hassle to figure out what to do with your masks when you have to take them off (to eat for example). With Halloween around the corner, I thought I would make a fun DIY Halloween Mickey Mask Chain!

Hey All!

The hottest accessory of 2020 has to be a mask chain. I’ve seen them being made and sold everywhere for ridiculous prices, so today I wanted to show you how you can easily make a mask chain that is Halloween and Disney themed. These take less than an hour to make and can be made with beads you may already have in your home. If you have any jewelry making supplies, you probably have everything you need already to make these.

If you don’t have the supplies they don’t cost that much to get. I made this one with a cute Mickey and “Boo To You” themed. I used Lobster clasps for this chain, but you can use gator clasps for it too. I’ll show you how to make them both ways. Each clasp works perfectly fine. Just use what you have!

Here is how to make them!

First you take the jewelry wire and pull it through the loop or hole on the clasp.

You add a stopper bead and a lobster or gator clasp. Insert the end into the stopper bead and use pliers to squeeze the bead to work as a stopper.

Add the beads to the jewelry wire in the design of your choice. I used a color scheme of Purple, Orange, Green, White, and Black beads for this mask chain. I did a pattern of purple, orange and green Mickey heads and in between each head a pattern of beads with the colors orange, purple, white and black.

Add the name beads in at the start of your mask chain.

You can make these as long as you’d like. Once you finish adding your beads and have the length you want, add a stopper bead and a lobster or gator clasp.

This is a lobster clasp above. You can use either or. Insert the end of the jewelry wire into the stopper bead and into the hold of the clasp. Hold the end of the wire to pull it tight. Use the pliers and squeeze the stopper bead to secure the clasp in place and secure the end.

That’s it you’re done!

You can clasp the lobster clasp or gator clasp to the ear straps of your mask or to the bottom of your mask.

It looks similar to those chains that you can put on glasses to hang your glasses on your neck.

I love my mask chains! I’m making like a million of them! I’m going to make a Christmas themed mask chain too!

Stay tuned for my Star Wars The Mandalorian Baby Yoda mask chain! I just had to make one for my Baby Yoda masks!
