Hey All!

Have you heard about Disney’s Blank: A Vinylmation Love Story? Disney Interactive and Google teamed up to launch “Blank: A Vinylmation Love Story,” an original animated short film made with adorable Vinylmation figures and amazing stop motion. The film will be available exclusively on Google Play, Google’s online store offering digital movies, books, music, apps, games and more.

The film runs about 38 minutes and tells the story of Blank, an unpainted Vinylmation, on an epic adventure through an original new world to find his lost soulmate.

I first got a preview of Blank while at the last Disney D23 convention. I instantly fell in love with this short. I love Vinylmation characters and collect them. And I also love stop motion, so it was the best of both worlds. Let’s not forget the film’s themes of friendship, love, creativity, adventure, and identity.

I loved the pieces of the film I saw so much I got my own Blank figures when I was there! Yes we make our own adventures and love stories with our Blank figures. I couldn’t wait to see the entire short and I was counting the days until it was released.

I was thrilled to finally see the 38 minutes. I watched it a few times since it was released. The story is so relateable. Believe it or not, you can actually relate to Vinylmation characters that come to life in a short film. I know as humans we all struggle and search for friendship, love, creativity, adventure, and finding our own identity. I know when I started this blog I was searching for friendship, the adventure of doing something new, and I was also searching to find my own identity. I know when you move to a new city and you have a crazy family life you can lose your sense of identity and struggle to find creative ways to express yourself. I know that was the case for me as I was no longer working in the film industry.

I’m thankful to have had love in my life for some time or I would have been searching for all these things just like Blank did. It truly is an inspiring story and it’s just incredibly well done.

It truly is one of the most unique and original Disney shorts you will ever see. It’s heartwarming and down right adorable. I hope this isn’t the last we see of incredible stop motion shorts like this.

You can download “Blank: A Vinylmation Love Story” for free exclusively on Google Play and can view the film online from your computer, or on your Android phone or tablet, or iPhone and iPad through the Google Play Movies & TV app. (Get the app for Android or iOS.)

To celebrate the premiere, Google is also inviting fans to share frames from the film with friends and family as digital greeting cards at blankmovie.withgoogle.com. After sharing a frame, guests can unlock a second special film, “Cranes in Love,” created especially for Google users.
