Hey All!
I don’t know about you, but I tend to buy everything under the sun on Amazon. For this reason, I have always had Amazon Prime. It’s an amazing service that not only allows me to get my free 2-day shipping, but it also comes with Amazon Cloud Drive as part of our membership. If you are an Amazon Prime member, you already have access to Amazon Cloud Drive with Prime Photos, which provides unlimited photo storage as part of your Prime membership. In addition, Prime members get 5 GB of additional storage space for videos, movies, music, and files. I finally realized I wasn’t taking advantage of all the benefits of my Amazon Prime membership, because Amazon Cloud Drive is awesome folks! I’m full on obsessed with my Amazon Prime membership now because of it. It’s rocked my world hard!
Why would it do that you ask? Well… Amazon Cloud Drive lets us securely back up and store our existing content including photos, videos, movies, music, and files onto our free Amazon Cloud Drive. Amazon Cloud Drive can be accessed via the web on Mac, PC, and tablets. Just go to Amazon.com/clouddrive or Amazon.com/primephotos to get started. The easiest way to get started is using the Amazon Photo app, available on Android and iOS devices. We just downloaded the app on to our iPhone, as we didn’t even know this was possible!
Through the app on your phone, you can turn Auto-Save. This will automatically back up your camera roll, freeing up valuable space on your device, so you can take more pictures and videos! When you take hundreds of photos a day like I do, this is a God send!
In addition, the Amazon Photo app allows you to access your photos and personal videos across devices (for example family photos you may have uploaded via the web).
It divides each photo section by dates, albums you create, and videos. You can also upload photos and video manually.
It also allows you to delete photos right from the app as well. It will delete on the phone and on the drive, so you don’t have to get on the desktop to delete the photo off your Amazon Cloud Drive.
When you’re on your desktop or laptop, you can also access everything you’ve uploaded to the drive and it’s divided in the same way. Photos and files can also be shared via private links from within the Amazon Photo app or by selecting a folder or file to be shared using the web interface on your computer.
You simply select pictures…
You’ll see the folder for your phone (which you set up through the app)…
And you’ll see all the photos you uploaded! You’ll also see all the photos that were automatically uploaded by the app since it’s backing up your photos on it’s own.
You can then download or share each of these photos from your Amazon Cloud Drive to your desktop or through the private link I mentioned before.
You can also upload files directly from your desktop as well!
It’s all kinds of awesome and I now can’t live with out it! If you have Amazon Prime membership and you’re not taking advantage of this, you need to get with the program and jump on your Amazon Cloud Drive.
If you want to try it out because you don’t have Amazon Prime membership, Amazon recently announced two unlimited storage plans, both start with a free 3-month trial:
- Unlimited Everything Plan ($59.99 per year—equivalent of less than $5 per month): Store an infinite number of new and existing photos, videos, files, documents, movies, and music in Cloud Drive.
- Unlimited Photos Plan ($11.99 per year—equivalent of less than $1 per month): Similar to the Prime member benefit – non Prime members can also store an infinite number of photos in Cloud Drive without worrying about taking up space on phones, cameras, or other devices. This plan also includes 5 GB of additional storage for videos or other documents and files.
I highly recommend you give it a try if you take tons of pictures like me daily of everything from food to family to pets, you definitely want something great like Amazon Cloud Drive to back it up to!
