Hey All!
If you’re Latina like me, the holidays don’t officially end until January 6th Dia De Los Tres Reyes aka Three Kings Day. If you’ve never heard of Three Kings Day, In Christian and Latino cultures it’s the celebration of the three wise men who visited the baby Jesus and gifted him with gold, frankincense and myrrh. To celebrate this, we (AKA the Three Kings) leave gifts under the tree for our kids on January 6th. Yes instead of Santa the Three Kings leave gifts under the tree. I love the holidays and giving gifts, so I love Three Kings Day. Our tree and holiday decorations stay up until the day after that day.
This year we bought a lot of our Three Kings gifts at JCPenney. JCPenney is the first retail brand that celebrates what a REAL Christmas is like for Latinos through stories by Latino children and their families. They make gift giving easy for unique families like mine. They always have great sales especially after Christmas. It’s a great way to start the New Year and I can always find something for everyone I’m trying to find a gift for at JCPenney! They have an amazing variety of products at their stores.
Shopping at JCPenney and keeping the tradition of Three Kings Day in our household allows us to keep our family traditions and culture alive. It allows our kids to learn about our diverse culture and all the beautiful customs we hold dear. Check out this video below that shares the same sentiment.
JCPenney wants to share the spirit of Christmas – the real spirit that lives in Latino homes in the US, a celebration of real-life Holiday traditions. JCPenney will be the first retail brand that celebrates what a REAL Christmas is like for Latinos through stories by Latino children and their families.
Through the voice of real people and families JCPenney has chosen real choir singer, boys and girls, to be part of the JCPenney choir and help tell the stories of their multicultural families and how they experience holidays in the US.
JCPenney Latino is here to help families find the things that make their holidays special. For more info “Like” JCPenney Latino on Facebook or visit the JCPenney Website.

How fun to be able to keep celebrating!
I wasn’t familiar with Three King’s Day. Just one more reason to love J.C. Penney!
keeping up the celebration seems like a great idea to me.
I’m looking forward to their after Christmas sales!
I had no idea about Three Kings Day, which is kind of surprising considering I grew up with so many Hispanic friends. I love celebrating holidays, so the more the merrier!
I hadn’t heard of Three Kings Day but it sounds like a great way to wrap up the season!
i’d never heard of this day either! Love your glasses. 🙂
We all it Epiphany in our denomination — I know a lot of people who keep their trees up till that day.
I hadn’t heard of Three Kings Day, so unique and special I love the tradition and idea!
That’s fantastic! I have to admit, I’m not too familiar with Three Kings Day.
Thanks for sharing. I had never heard of Three Kings Day.
What a wonderful way to celebrate! I have to get a Minnie or Mickey stocking for M!!!
I love all the Mickey on and under your tree! Our son got his first Mickey Mouse stuffed animal for Christmas, and he carries it everywhere, sits it at the table with him at dinner, and even tries to let Mickey drink his water. 🙂
I’m so glad I read this. I didn’t know much about Three Kings Day.
We won’t take our Christmas tree down until after the 6th, too!
I had never heard of this but I wonder (living in South Florida) if this is why so many people still have their lights up.
not sure if I ever heard of 3 kings day but we love shopping at JcPenny
I haven’t heard of Three Kings Day, but do love to shop at JC Penney. 🙂
What a great reason to keep the decorations up and still celebrate 🙂 We keep ours up pretty late too, but that’s just because I’m usually to sad to take it down before the first week of January, LOL.
I’ve never heard of Dia De Los Tres Reyes — interesting.
