What I learned From Tommy Davidson About Sharknado: The 4th Awakens!

Hey All!

I don’t know about you, but I absolutely LOVE the Syfy Sharknado movies and I look forward them each year. I literally plan a Sharknado viewing party and make shark themed treats for the occasion. I also stalk the people handing out Sharknado swag at San Diego Comic Con, so I can have fun stuff to wear when the movie airs. Just like the stuff I got this year that you see below. I can’t wait to wear it all. It airs usually right after Comic Con and it’s heavily promoted there, hence why I always get my swag! The week before Comic Con, I got the amazing opportunity to chat with one of the new stars of the film Tommy Davidson about his role in the film and I learned a few fun facts too! I’ve been a fan of his since his In Living Color days, so I was thrilled to find out he was in Sharknado 4: The Fourth Awakens.

Check out what Tommy had to say when we chatted below:

Tommy Davidson Sharknado 4

Sharknado is like the cult classic to end all cult classic! How did you get involved with the film and how excited were you to get the call to be a part of it?

I just got a call and it was as simple as that. I just seemed so out there and far away for me, that I never thought I would be in something like this! But I got the call and it was so creative and I’m like Indian Jones! I love to go on the adventure of a lifetime and that was this, so I jumped right in. I shot for about a month

So from the clip I saw, I know your Character brings fins dad back from space, What else can you tell me about your character in the film? Is he an astronaut?

He’s kind of like a Tony Stark and a genius who can build anything. He builds something that helps get his dad back and a ton of stuff to keep himself alive through out the film.

He survives and hopefully will be in Sharknado 5!

Did you get to kill lots of sharks in the film and what was your favorite scene to shoot?

Millions of sharks! My character creates a lot of technology that helps take out a lot of sharks. And I loved shooting the scenes with me and Fin where we’re facing off against the sharks. Ian Ziering is amazing to work with him.

Who is your favorite cameo in this film and if you could choose anyone to have a cameo in Sharknado who would it be?

The Hoff!  David Hasselhoff because he’s Knight Rider and young people today remember him from when they were kids.  It was just amazing to get the opportunity to work with him. And if I could pick one person to have a cameo in the films, that’s a tough question, but it would be Bruce Willis.

To which I replied, that would be so amazing! How insane would it be to hear Bruce Willis go Yippee ki yay Sharknado! I would die!

Lastly, I asked where does he want to see Sharknado hit next? Like Sharknado Hawaii!

I don’t wish a Sharknado on anybody!

To which we both shared a laugh!

Thanks so much to Tommy for chatting with me about the film and everyone needs to tune into Sharknado 4: The Fourth Awakens this weekend on Sunday July 31st  at 8/7c.
