They have what they call Mini™ Missions that you complete with your family. You can actually have fun with your family and complete a mission. When your family completes a Mini™ Mission, you can earn free Scholastic books for your family and a chance to win prizes for your school and community.
Visit scholastic.com/minimissions to register your family for the Every Day is a Big Day program. Each month, log in and complete a new Mini™Mission to earn 2 free Scholastic books for your family. When your family completes a Mini™ Mission, you are also entered into a sweepstakes where 131 prizes will be awarded to schools and communities each month. You can also download some free monthly stories chronicling Mini’s™ adventures against the evil Skipper.

October’s themed Mini™ Missions is Creative Moments.
The Objective: Encourage families to let their creative sides shine.
The Task: Engage in 4 creative pursuits as a family. Design, decorate, bake, write, sing – we want to see the results!
It’s easy to fulfill the tasks as we live in sunny California. We’ve gotten out of the house to play and sing to our hearts content at a family picnic. It gave me the opportunity to cook and bake to enjoy the day with my family.
The whole family gets in on the fun even the dogs.
It’s also not hard to decorate or bake as this is the month that starts the Holidays. I’m already decorating and designing for Halloween and of course we’re singing our favorite Halloween tunes as we decorate. Halloween is my favorite holiday so this task was honestly fun and easy to complete.
By actively taking on these tasks we’ve learned that we need to take more time to enjoy each other as a family. Life can get busy and we need to slow down to spend time with each other. Soon our teen will be gone and this is the time to spend it together. We’ve gained an appreciation for the little moments in life that you often take for granted (like spending time with each other) through the experience.
