I was not compensated in any way for this post. I was solely invited on a press trip to cover the film’s release and travel was provided.
Hey All!
As you all know I had the amazing opportunity to be a student at Monsters University for a few days and I have to say it was a once in a lifetime experience.
When I arrived at Monsters U (Also known as Pixar in Emeryville, California), I was over the moon! I felt as if I had stepped into a world that only Disney and Pixar could create!
As soon as we walked through the Monster’s University arch way were greeted by a full on Monster’s U Marching band…
And of course real life Monsters! She was such a sweet Monster Momma!
We then entered their Quad area that was decorated like a first day of orientation at Monster’s U.
They had tons of student activities to choose from and learn about as well as…
Lots of amazing clubs to join! This is actually where we picked up our information for the day and got our ID Cards/Badges for the day!
It was truly amazing to see the lengths Disney/Pixar went to transport us into Monster’s University during our visit. We checked into orientation and got our schedules for the day. Pixar gave us the opportunity to interview some of the cast and crew, learn about the process of developing the story of Monsters University, and how they created younger versions of Mike and Sulley. We even got to learn how to draw some of the characters from the film! I can’t wait to share all these amazing experiences with you!
On our tour of the amazing Pixar Studios, I met up with my Monster’s U buddies Mike and Sulley!
We played some Fear-Pong with the cutest little Mike balls!
And we saw just how beautiful the studio is! It was so amazing to learn about how Steve Jobs actually had an instrumental role in how the studio layout was designed. It great to see how much Pixar provides for their employees to make sure they have a great working environment. They have everything from a professional grade soccer field to a swimming pool! All this is done to help spark the creativity in their artists and employees.
We saw so much and learned so much I could go on for days. We even had a Marching band meet us for lunch if that says how major this event was.
Again I can’t wait to share all the amazing details of what I learned at Monsters University…I mean at Pixar with you all!
In the mean time here is an exclusive first look at this awesome trailer for Monsters University that Pixar just released TODAY!
Monsters University opens in theaters June 21st, 2013!
