Hey All!
I can’t believe the Oscars have come and gone, but I wanted to take a moment to share with you my fabulous Awards Night Viewing Party that I hosted right after attending the red carpet of the Oscars. I hosted this amazing viewing party for my family and friends thanks to the fine folks at King’s Hawaiian and House Party. As you all know I love King’s Hawaiian and have created many recipes for them on their blog which you can find HERE. I wanted it to be a very golden themed party since gold is the color of the night when it comes to the Academy Awards and those fabulous gold Oscar statues. I of course had to decorate with the Awards to set the mood for the party. Who doesn’t love a fabulous vinyl Oscar statue hanging on the wall? I know I do! I made these with some gold vinyl and my Cricut Explore cutting machine which I’m obsessed with.
To write on the Oscar ballots I had printed for my family and guests, I had these fun red lipstick pens as what’s more glamorous than red lipstick right? I thought they were also very fun and appropriate for the party atmosphere since it is a night of glamor.
Each table setting had a marquee table setting card with the guests name on it to add more of that fun movie feel. I also made those large Oscars out of Gold cardstock with my Cricut Explore and I of course made some Oscar confetti with it as well. I scattered them all around the table for a more festive look on the table. I also lined the gold runner I put down with some film strips banners I had.
King’s Hawaiian provided these fun photo props to take pics with.
Golden awards statues lined the tables and our bar cart.
I had a mix of golden candies that were champagne flavored to mix in with our edible gold leaf sprinkled popcorn. I put the popcorn inside that Golden Hat I had left over from New Years Eve.
And of course we had some amazing King’s Hawaiian S’mores to much on which I made with King’s Hawaiian rolls, milk chocolate and Rolos, and champagne gold leaf marshmallows. I used this S’mores recipe that I made over on King’s Hawaiian as a basis for this recipe. I simply didn’t cut them into stars.
These gold & champagne marshmallows are amazing and were the perfect twist on our S’mores. I called them golden S’mores.
I set up a S’mores bar on our table so our guests could make as many S’mores with their King’s Hawaiian rolls as they’d like.
I put the Marshmallows in a glass to give them marshmallows a fabulous look as people snagged them for their S’mores. Some of our guests just ate them from the cup on their own since they were so good.
As we watched the Academy awards we played our Academy Awards Bingo and for those who won they took home their own golden award statue.
We munched on the Golden S’mores…
We snacked on some Awards Night Statue Rice Krispy Treats which I made again for the event…
And we cheered on our favorite movies like BirdMan as we sipped our bubbly in these champagne flutes.
All our guests left with an Award Statue of their own, a shell necklaces, and…
A fun King’s Hawaiian tote bag filled with some coupons for King’s Hawaiian.
It was such a fun night and I had a blast hosting it. Everyone really enjoyed themselves. I throw an Academy Awards Viewing Party every year and this year has to be our best year yet.
I hope you enjoyed a look at our party and I hope it gives you some ideas for your own parties next year.

I think your parties are way cooler than mine. Feel free to invite me 😉
You’re always invited! Just move to California! lol
Well, I’ve never hosted an Oscar’s party, but I’ve gotten some great ideas here for next year. I also would not have thought to use King Hawaiian rolls as s’mores! I can see how they would be good, though, because King Hawaiian rolls are the best! Yum!
What a fun party! I love the idea of the s’mores bar. I never thought of using Kings rolls. Did they get soggy?
