My Favorite Milk Dessert #Recipe! #Positivismo

Hey All!

Did you know my fictional amigo The Maestro del Vaso Medio Lleno recently launched a new web series that focuses on incorporating positivity into your daily life?  The “El Vaso Medio Lleno” Webshow is sponsored by Toma Leche, and will include ten (10) webisodes that will air from November 5th through January 6th. The first webisode “El Mejor Flan del Mundo” was filmed at popular Los Angeles bakery, Porto’s Bakery & Café, and includes an interview with one of the owner’s daughters Beatriz Portos. Beatriz share her family’s recipe for one of their most popular desserts – flan!

You have to check out this video as you don’t even know how much I love Porto’s! It’s a Cuban Bakery and it’s the one place in California that reminds me of Home and the food my family used to make. It’s amazing how food can make you think of family and make you happy! One recipe that always reminds me of happy times and home which always makes me happy is my “Tres Leche’s Cake” aka 3 Milk Cake Recipe! I really do think recipes made with milk can help to make you feel positive and happy!

I wanted you to get an up close and personal look at my milky goodness cake!

Here is how you can make my yummy recipe!

The Queen of Swag’s Tres Leche’s Cake!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1/3 cup of whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 can of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup of evaporated milk
  • 1 container of any fluffy white frosting

Directions:

    1. In a large bowl beat the egg yolk and 1 cup sugar until it’s mixed completely. Then Stir in the whole milk, vanilla, flour and baking powder. Mix until a thick mixture forms.
    2. Pour mixture into a well greased pan.
    3. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes or until you feel it’s done. I like to check with a toothpick. You insert a toothpick near the center of the cake and if it comes out clean you’re done. Allow it to cool for 10-15 minutes.
    4. Mix together condensed milk and evaporated milk. Pour the milk mixture over cake making sure to cover the entire cake. Make sure the mixture is absorbed.
    5. Frost cake with fluffy white frosting and add some strawberries and you’re done!

It’s really easy to make and the most amazing dessert recipe I know that uses lots of yummy milk.  It always makes me happy to make and eat this cake!
